Re: BRAWL 2013 Update Thread!

finally the script is finished and we have all the voices done except for a few that i need to do when i'm alone (its awkward when people hear you if you know what i mean) so i'm going to start animating after school tomorrow also i'm planning on finishing the voices. hopefully Zachary Volt will have started on his part of the animation as he did an excellent job finishing off the script today.

And also to anyone who still needs voice actors i can do it i'm fairly good also a good place to check is the BiM chat there is lots of people on it now and usually if you ask while lots of people on you will get several replies. if you want me to do any voices just pm me i'm usually pretty good with young adult voices around mid 20's even though i'm not even 20 i'm pretty good at manipulating my voice.

Unfortunately we've had a tragedy strike on Skype. The call died prematurely. :C

Well, just because someone is the correct gender for the part doesn't mean that they'd be the right person for any role of that gender.
I considered it, but her voice doesn't really fit that character. Not that she's not a good actress, just not the right actress.

For instance, Emma Watson would be a horrible Professor Mcgonagall.  And Rupert Grint would be an awful Snape.

Of course, that seems silly since I'm a guy, but it sounds incredibly humorous with me trying to do a voice for her.

Same. I only have a couple hours to work today, but tomorrow I'll be working until I (possibly) finish the animation.

Well you could always put up a casting call you might get some people you wouldn't of thought of. mini/bigsmile

It's my own custom model.  I've had it for years, but I've never even taken a picture of it.

Here is an alien space ship set I built: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid … mp;theater

I started playing with lighting possibilities and wound up with this: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid … mp;theater

I personally think It looks horrid. mini/frustrated Any suggestions on how to improve it?

no more brickfilming *sad face*.

Re: BRAWL 2013 Update Thread!

Hmm, maybe try not to have it so dark overall? Right now it's a very extreme contrast between the lights and the rest of the set.

Here's a frame:

I'm trying to not release too many, or give too much away, but I really like this one.

Re: BRAWL 2013 Update Thread!

I agree with Surf, making it a bit lighter (maybe shine a lamp on the ceiling or something) would probably help.

15 seconds of animation done on my entry! And I can't wait to do some more. mini/bigsmile

Re: BRAWL 2013 Update Thread!

Animation is completed. Only three more shots of masking to do before moving on to editing and post-production.

Re: BRAWL 2013 Update Thread!

Squid, Good news, that looks amazing. Glad to see the talking horse return.
Bad news, I don't see the mod element.

Is it possibly in the stained glass window? (Unfortunately I can't see how, since it looks like all of those pieces are transparent).

I've never had this character in a film before.  You must be thinking of Gloaming Glitter from The Lost Invention.

The mod element is there in background of the original picture, however, basically impossible to notice, but it can be seen if you bring up the brightness and contrast a bunch:

There's also another frame just before this one where you can see the grey pole fixed to his saddle.

Re: BRAWL 2013 Update Thread!

@Mighty,
Fine, unicorn.

It may be that the border to the window is gray, and the red piece on the outside is touching it, but I can't tell from that frame, and neither can the judges. Just a thought.

Also, a frame. Finally. I think I'm leaving this 16:9, just to make it look different from my other recent releases.

Got about a page to go on filming, but it's turning out worse than my usual rubbish.
Big white sets aren't flicker-free-filming-friendly. mini/sad

Oh, and Squid, I'm going to make you pay for babbling during your recording session. mini/devil
Now I know exactly what to put during the credits.

P.S. @Squid, oh, sorry. Couldn't tell by the silhouette.  Hope the judges notice that picture.

Of course, it's a horse.

If the judges question the shot, I'll send this to them.

I've been pretty good from the most part thus far, especially since the main character wears the mod, this is the only shot I have where it's hard to spot.

Though, that's the only shot where I completely forgot about the mod while filming, but luckily it's still sort of there.

The character, though named, is actually called "Horse" in the script even though he mentions his name (this is because I wrote the script unsure if I wanted a horse or a unicorn and I didn't have a name for him yet).  He considers himself a horse as well as a magical unicorn and refers to himself as either.

Also, this film has several references to My Little Pony, all of them extremely obvious.
