Lego Battlefield 4

I'm a huge fan on the 'Battlefield' series, and I wanted to try and make a film that actually somewhat resembles gameplay.  I've been planning on doing this for some time, but only decided on the title when EA announced 'Battlefield 4'.

There are a few shots that I wasn't that happy with, but this was taking way too long, so I didn't re-do them.

EDIT: I tweeted this to EA and they replied back: "@Saminatorger Sam - this is unreal!! So much time to make it - very cool. Thanks for sharing with us!" - so that was pretty cool mini/smile

This video was awesome! Much better than anything I could have done. I've seen you script your films on an iPad. What app do you use to do that?

Re: Lego Battlefield 4

I use Pages, it's £6.99/$9.99.

Re: Lego Battlefield 4

Nice video but once again the usual norm of war videos.

Re: Lego Battlefield 4

It's always great to get some sort of official recognition for your work, so congrats!

While the scale is pretty cool in that first shot, the camera shake quickly becomes unbearable all throughout the short.
The effects and animation are solid, but it's nothing out of the ordinary, and with all the other war movies like this, it'll be hard for this one to stand out. Sadly, your strongest point of expertise (Story) was neglected entirely in this. The mix-and-match uniforms stood out, and while the sets are larger than most, the designs were fairly basic.

It's fine for a view grabbing, fan gathering video. But it's going to quickly sink into the mass of similar videos.
The 2K quality doesn't make any difference on my end, and since my headphones are half-broke, the stereo was likewise unnoticeable.

Thanks for providing some behind-the-scenes stuff. It's nice to see you've got a Hobbit poster, and I'm sure the frame-by-frame effects took a while.

Re: Lego Battlefield 4

To be totally honest; this was largely intended as a "view grabbing" video (though it hasn't really taken off).  I did still want to do something based on the game, but opted for a more low-brow approach that didn't involve a deep and compelling narrative in order to appeal to a wider demographic.  It was fun for what it was, but I do admit that without some form of story, it did make it that bit harder to motivate myself.

I am, however, working on something a tad more intellectual, which will need a voice actor or two (hint hint, Pritchard mini/wink ).
