Hey.  Does this mean that you animate first, then record the voices?  Or do you voice as you go along?

I record on a day when both my sister and I have time. Since most of the episode involves Shaniekqua and the new characters, it's vital that Amanda and the people I have set to voice the new characters record their lines before I can do any extensive amount of editing.

I wonder who the new characters are.  Well, We'll find out soon enough!

I finally had time to record Bruce's lines last night and I also started editing the Chinese restaurant scene. I finished the scene this morning and also recorded Joe's lines this evening. I posted photos on Facebook.

I'm hoping to film the last of the required scenes tomorrow.

Can't wait to see it!!!  This is exciting.  And since I don't visit Facebook, I'm in suspense on what things are looking like.

Filming has officially been completed. All there is left to do is edit the footage and record Shaniekqua's lines. Here are some photos:

You are getting me excited!

It's awesome that you can produce an episode so fast!  I wish I'd be able to do so!

Thanks. Because Joe Brickmond is not special-effects oriented, it doesn't take me very long to get filming done. It'e the editing that takes a while, especially since I am now animating mouths and I don't edit it every day.

I don't use any special effects at all, at least in this series.  But the episodes are SUPER LONG and I'm trying to vary the locations more and more, but I don't earmark any scenes.  I write the script, then build what I need.  My wife wants to start her own brickfilm, and everytime she gets a new minifigure or part, says, ""Oh!  I can use this in my story!  Now, how to make it fit..." I keep telling her to write the story and then plan what you need for it, not the other way around, since story comes first.

Another part of it is that I don't have very many sets in a lot of the episodes. Plus, since I've been animating since I was 11 (I am now 19), there are some things I can do without even thinking about it. The longer you animate, the faster and easier it gets. I'm always looking for ways to grow as an animator.

I'm guilty of having done the same in the past myself. That's why I always make an effort to have the final draft of a script done before doing any other kind of production.

Editing is 50% done. Animating mouth movements is hard, but well worth it.

MAY 29, 2013

After taking over a week off, I got some editing done today. The episode is 70% edited.
