Here is a test with VC's AME. I just got it from http://www.videocopilot.net for $60 US. It's a great package, and I definitely reccomend it!

It was good, but had its problems.
You see, the animation was fine I think, but it's the muzzle that I'm thinking about. It was a little almost invisible puff of smoke that was about in front of the gun rather than on it. It wasn't really a muzzle flash, a muzzle flash is a flash of a gun when it shoots, not a puff of smoke. I recommend just doing it on a single frame like I do it on Gimp. It actually lets you draw a muzzle flash. Not bad though.
But the actual flash lasted for 3 frames. Didn't you see it?
meh, pretty good, but you know this was a horrible time to buy AME, because in just a few weeks their releasing version 2 of it, 
action movie essentials 2: HD.

DUDE!!! WATCH YOUR LANGUAGE!!! LOL ( I'm actually not trying to start that again. it was good except for the video quality.
you also missed the the 2009 brickarms, tough luck
