Re: Drawings and other Art
I love the Gravity Falls one. You should make an animated Gravity Falls video, made up of your artwork. I would LOVE THAT.

Squid wrote:I'm not really sure how it is one submits television show ideas, but I'll try to figure that out eventually. The story needs more detail, and I doughnut want some random person taking it over and making an atrocity out of it. It would be very easy for someone to mess everything up in the story quite quickly.
Yo Squid, if you wanna figure out how to create a pitch for a cartoon series for a network, and all the stuff that goes into making it, read Joe Murray's Creating Animated Cartoons With Character. It's an extremely helpful book about everything you need to know about creating a TV show pitch, and what it takes to do it, and everything. It basically explains every single thing that goes on in the cartoon business from someone who has made 2 emmy award winning tv cartoons, and interviews loads of great people. Definitely check it out.
Ah, thank you! I'll try to check that out sometime.
Here's some art I've done recently that I'm ok with.
Princess Sofia from Sofia the First
I like this one.
I've seen some people talking about this show on the internet, but I know almost nothing about it. Is it good?
It's an adorable show. I really love it. It's about a little girl who becomes a princess because a king falls in love with her mom and she gets really cute step-siblings and the butler is voiced by Tim Gunn from Project Runway and the whole thing is really cute. Really cute.
These are pencil drawings I did, copied from photos. The first one is a Zenvo ST1. The second is a Devon Motorworks GTX.
Sorry about the sideways-ness, my scanner kept squishing the landscape photos.
mini bump
this is a picture I made for my Youtube background.
this is my first time using a tablet, I don't think I did to terribly.
Thats pretty cool! I have a tablet, but I can't draw very well because Im not used to it. I really like what you did here!
I don't know if this counts, but here is my DC Universe Online Character:

Now compare it to my face on one of my videos on my Youtube channel in the signature below.
Doesn't it look just like me?!
A rough map of the kingdoms of Riigo-Faloo:
Duskull = the Goblin Kingdom
Solisium = the Cat Kingdom
Vjorthos = the Shark Kingdom
Falkjiren Forest = the Elf Kingdom
Ploof = the Gnome Kingdom
The two films I made which take place in Riigo-Faloo are both set in Ploof.
I'm hoping to make a bigger and more detailed map with the list of major cities I've created eventually. I wanted to get a better idea of the general shape, though.
I think it's funny how Solisium's an island, even though cats hate water.

Well, a typical house cat doesn't really like being forced to bathe, nor do many animals, or humans.
Faloovian cats (which are more like anthropomorphic cats like the Khajit of the Elder Scrolls series) enjoy their placement in the sea because it gives them a readily available supply of fish, which cats love to eat. The Sharks of Vjorthos also share similar tastes and thus the two races get along especially well.

I drew a picture of a little shepherd boy, I don't remember who did the original picture. It looks better when it's not on the computer.
I also drew a portrait of someone, see if you can guess who it is. It shouldn't be hard.
That last one there Mighty is pretty great man, I'm impressed.
That is just amazing.
Thanks, guys. Yeah, that is my favorite of the two, I'm really pleased at how it turned out. Glad you like it!
The face is really good in its detail, it seems quite realistic. I can't pin who it is, though, but it makes me think of Star Trek.
I drew some rough and not very good concept sketches for a recent story idea which I've been developing for only a few days now:
This is Pairgrim, a member of a race of tree-like people which I am tentatively calling the voken. His face looks like a polished wooden mask, and if he or any other voken is wounded, they will bleed sap instead of blood.
Pairgrim will probably be the main character, I'm not sure what his story is, but I like the way he turned out.
There are four other races, some of which I haven't named. I've challenged myself to make a fantasy would without using any previously existing typical fantasy races or humans, which is actually quite fun.
This is an orb tree, a common type of plant in Pairgrim's realm.
The orb at the top grows until it bursts and releases spores which are carried by the wind to grow into more trees.
This is a drawing of some sort of city with some scenery around it including some less detailed orb trees.
The entire realm exists as a bunch of floating chunks of land, some are as big as a country and others are small enough that you could use it as a table for your breakfast.
My tentative back story for the realm is that two great warriors from a race called the sool fought against each other in an ancient battle which broke the world into fragments.
That's a great drawing Mighty--although the shading above the eyes does look a tad too square-ish to me. It wouldn't by any chance be Captain America, would it?
I do like the sound of your story, Squid. Personally, I find Pairgrim looks a bit like the Grim Reaper. I really like the idea of non-typical fantasy races. Incidentally, that drawing of the floating city looks quite similar to a concept sketch I made a while back, which I might get round to posting some time...

I really thought so too. In a way, I kinda like it.
There is another race, though, which has a mostly skeletal appearance, but are not technically undead. Though, they usually wear advanced looking space armour, but sometimes robes.
I'm still trying to think up a name for them. Zairbiin? Lorbiin? Vorg? Draivok? Zaifon? Zorkar? Zedosii? Pozok?
I'm not sure.
Yes, it is Captain America. Thanks Squid, Flying.
Those are really cool drawings, Squid. I'm not very good at coming up with good names and such, sorry I can't help you out there. Out of the ideas you had, I do kind of like Zairbiin the best.
Oh? I was thinking Nic Cage, ha ha. Maybe because of the lips.
This is a charcoal drawing I completed for my drawing unit at university last semester. It isn't traced, but I based it visually on the second image, original artist unknown. I'd love to have more time to consolidate my new found drawing skills, but I can't find the spare time in with all my other hobbies.
