Re: The Super Official BiM Upcoming Movie Updates and Discussion Thread

The whole time I was going back between thinking it was Disney making a spinoff of a spinoff and just some cheap ripoff of Planes.

I just.... what...

Hollywood has come full circle.

What is this I don't even? I don't--what--

Re: The Super Official BiM Upcoming Movie Updates and Discussion Thread

That looks so terribly awful that it might actually be fun to watch.

Re: The Super Official BiM Upcoming Movie Updates and Discussion Thread

Is that even a real movie? :wince:

Re: The Super Official BiM Upcoming Movie Updates and Discussion Thread

The acting is so bad it almost seems surreal.

Re: The Super Official BiM Upcoming Movie Updates and Discussion Thread

This looks amazing. I'm a sucker for a little war history. Such a great cast and...gosh, Desplat's doing the music. I swear, if this is R, I will not be happy.

Re: The Super Official BiM Upcoming Movie Updates and Discussion Thread

Those last two trailers are quite a contrast. mini/tongue I might be impressed with Wings if it was animated by one guy and posted on YouTube; maybe. The Monuments Men, however, looks absolutely incredible, can't wait for it to come out. mini/smile

Re: The Super Official BiM Upcoming Movie Updates and Discussion Thread

Lee Daniels' The Butler, with Forest Whitaker also looks pretty good. I'll probably go see that one in the cinema. Jobs is also looking pretty sweet.

I dunno what to say, but whatever it would be would only fall short. This is too awesome for words.
I am so ready for that HFR 3D goodness, and December needs to hurry up and get here now.

Re: The Super Official BiM Upcoming Movie Updates and Discussion Thread

I wish I was looking forward to the movie's release. But, I can't say I am. I enjoyed the first movie, and I would like to go see the film on opening day with my friends. But, now that I think about it, this whole trilogy's kind of a disappointment.

Terribly disappointing. That third movie sucked. mini/tongue

Re: The Super Official BiM Upcoming Movie Updates and Discussion Thread

In other words, Walter, my hopes of The Hobbit "trilogy" being anything more than just another "holiday blockbuster" aren't going very strong. And if Weta suddenly decides to turn Part 3 into a 2-parter, I think that'll be it for me.

In other news, Dumb and Dumber 2, anyone? Yes, sadly, it's a thing now. While the plot to D&Der is original and hilarious, I don't think it really needs a sequel. It bugs me that Hollywood has to go and try to squeeze a sequel out of everything. I know, I know: it isn't the filmmakers' intention to actually get filmgoers to like it. It's only for the money. But really, Hollywood? Really? Why don't you just go and sequel-ize every good film on the market while you're at it? Oh wait, you already have...

Re: The Super Official BiM Upcoming Movie Updates and Discussion Thread

I am really not excited for anything whatsoever right now except for I suppose season 3 of sherlock but that is not a movie!!

I thought I'd mention this, which looks pretty good.

Re: The Super Official BiM Upcoming Movie Updates and Discussion Thread

Frozen doesn't look that bad, actually. I remember seeing a preview of it when I went to see Despicable Me 2. I didn't think it could be all that bad...for an animated Disney film.

If it's as good as Tangled I'll enjoy it. mini/smile

Re: The Super Official BiM Upcoming Movie Updates and Discussion Thread

Has anybody seen the trailer for Hayao Miyazaki's new film, The Wind Rises? It's incredible, in fact watching the trailer almost made me cry. Not because the film itself is visually compelling, but apparently, it's supposed to be the last film that Miyazaki makes. mini/eek Maybe he is getting too old (he's turning 73 next month) for making films for Studio Ghibli. But, I don't see how he can just stop making these films. Miyazaki is wonderful. And it's very wise of him to give us one last masterpiece.

Here is the IMDB page which tells you that it's probably going to be released in North America next February. Also the trailer is there too, just in case you haven't seen it yet and you're so curious that you want to check it out. mini/wink

Also, I haven't yet seen From Up on Poppy Hill; has anyone seen that one yet? I'm thinking of going to look for it at Redbox or something. My local Blockbuster is closing, and I doubt that I'll find it there anyways.

I'm more of a DC guy myself, but this looks pretty sweet.

Re: The Super Official BiM Upcoming Movie Updates and Discussion Thread

What? A Spider-Man 5 trailer? Sounds like a cool idea...

Re: The Super Official BiM Upcoming Movie Updates and Discussion Thread

It's not as cool as the Batman 6 trailer, but what is?

raises hand

I saw it last summer, it was a little hard to get into but once I figured out people's names I enjoyed it. Hopefully Goro Miyasaki will continue in his father's footsteps.
