Click the "BBCode" button that is over the text box where you write in your comment, it will be in the upper-right hand side by the "Smilies" and "Images" buttons. That will open a window showing you how to post pics, links and do other things.

Re: The Wizard of Oz

I need some ideas on how to do the following special effects and what programs i should use: a big pink bubble that flys through the sets, A melting Witch, random objects flying rapidly through the air, snow, CGI trees, a tornado, and a giant floating green lego head. This will be my first time using special effects so i really need help

Re: The Wizard of Oz

For the flying objects try masking them (Using Gimp or Photoshop).
For CGI Lego pieces I use Leocad and then imported into Blender
For the rest, well...I don't do much CGI so I can't help you there.
But you might want to try looking at The CGI thread.

Re: The Wizard of Oz

For the melting witch, try clay, blurring in photoshop, and maybe some sloped lego pieces. You could probably do the bubble and the tornado in cgi, and then the floating head just mask out the body, and snow, try a bunch of white lego bricks or cgi.

Re: The Wizard of Oz

Oh ya the witch clay thing is a good idea I'll do some test footage for it.

Re: The Wizard of Oz

I did some test shots and they look great but once I get Photoshop i'll have to blur it and add steam
Thanks again

Re: The Wizard of Oz

Fantasyfilmer, in the future, please do not triple post. In the bottom right hand corner of your post, you'll find an edit button, where you can edit your post mini/smile .

For the bubble, you can use a program like After Effects or a 3D effects program to create it, but it takes a lot of time and practice.

Re: The Wizard of Oz

Thanks every one but I think I have a good Idea of the cyclone. I'm going to hang a black ribbon over the set And add dust flying around it and I'll try to make it look like it's spinning. Any other ideas on the tornado

Re: The Wizard of Oz

The Wizard of Oz.
The Dorothy minifig looks awesome now that I finished her. Her braids are made of clay and baked to keep their shape. The hair actully worked like Lego hair. I used the overall top for the top of her dress and I modified it by making it plad. I did the same with the tenis girl skirt from a minifig. Any other sugestions to make her look better every two days I'll post an update. So next week I'll talk about the lion.
