Topic: Animation Test Montage

Link.

Wow, its been awhile hasn't it? Sorry for the lack of  guys, its just that my house situation is still messed up, and I don't know how long it will take to fix it. sorry 'bout that. mini/sad I will still try to get a video up every once in awhile, though its not likely.
Anyway, here a little test montage that I threw together to keep you guys satisfied for now. Its not much, but it will do.

I am truly sorry for the set bumps and light flickers. Once i get said issue sorted out i will certainly get rid of those problems. try to ignore it and focus on the animation. mini/smile

Re: Animation Test Montage

Everything seemed kinda slow, like everything was moving through mollasses. It looks like you need to take less frames and work on pacing, which is making movements faster or slower depending on the movement. Also, it seems you're not fully understanding easing in and out. It's not just one frame of a small increment at each end with equally spaced frames in the middle, the movement gets gradually faster then gradually slower. No two frames should be equally spaced.

Thanks guys! mini/smile

@ZachFB Studios
thanks! Yeah, ever since the cartoon physics animation challenge I've been trying out cartoony animation. mini/smile

@minifig051
I have yet to master the ease in and out technique. When i start animating again (hopefully soon) i will work on perfecting my animation skills. I watched the video through again and my animation is kind of slow. What stood-out the most was the bunny hop and turn. It was super slow. Bunny's should be quick and, well, bouncy. mini/tongue
anyway, thanks for the input mini/smile

@ZachFB: Just a word of forum etiquette, please don't use the marquee. It's annoying. I have no idea why Sméagol included it.

Re: Animation Test Montage

it was all right, Pretty good actuals.
there was some light flicker but since this was a test thats all right.
everything was a bit slow but other then that it wasn't that bad,

Re: Animation Test Montage

Yeah, that's little choppy but a quite good after all. I think it has lot of light flicking, but I guess you can fix it. I like the bunnie hop test and so on, but I think too that your lighting are too little, so, maybe more lamps and settings to manual. Then all is right. But fine test montage after all. Refreshing.

@Coyote Creek Films
Thank you! mini/smile

@Lord Lajaka
Thanks! I've drawn out a lighting set-up for my new studio, and i think it will work out pretty well. mini/smile As for camera settings, I'm pretty sure everything's set to manual. Thanks though. mini/smile

Re: Animation Test Montage

Pretty good, it seems a little choppy and slow. Possibly higher frame rate? I couldn't tell if it was 15 or not, it seemed like 12 or 11. If it was 15, try 17. I used that for a bit then went back to 15 after I got used to it. They are quite similar so if you have a scene you feel is too slow, use 17 fps to speed it up a bit. Other than that, it's pretty good. Just keep at it. B]

Re: Animation Test Montage

thanks. mini/smile I am currently using 12 FPS (technically 24, but on twos) I think I'm going to try 15 FPS though, because I am still experimenting. mini/smile

Re: Animation Test Montage

Yes, I reccomend 15 fps. With 12 fps, some fast movements look choppy. With 15 fps, fast movements are still smooth.
