Re: Lego Ideas (formerly Cuusoo)

Cool Beans, Troodon.  Not seen you in a while.  WOW is a very cool theme.  Just don't make them like the lame Spielberg version.  Stick to the classic alien tripods!

Well, it's been done.

I have to say I kind of like this format better than Cuusoo, what do you guys think?

Re: Lego Ideas (formerly Cuusoo)

I prefer the cuusoo format.  I also noticed there is a year time limit or something?  Reall puts the pressure on to reach 10000.

Re: Lego Ideas (formerly Cuusoo)

That time limit has already been in place, but not really publicized much. I think it was put there so projects wouldn't just sit around for years without many votes.

Re: Lego Ideas (formerly Cuusoo)

The time limit is what makes ideas 'unique', suppose ones don't like it, but it will be interesting to see what good comes out of it. I do feel sad for projects that have been on there for ages, and not reaching the limit, however!

That would be the worst.

Re: Lego Ideas (formerly Cuusoo)

The cryptic marketing push for the exo suit is under way. I got to make them a short promo video which is due to appear on the Lego YT channel soon. This is the even more cryptic teaser for that:

Exo-Suit has been revealed! Featuring green classic space minifigures!

Re: Lego Ideas (formerly Cuusoo)

Oh wow, that looks amazing! I'll have to get me one of those.

I have to say, that looks pretty impressive.  I'm not 100% sure if I'll get one at this point, though.

Re: Lego Ideas (formerly Cuusoo)

Oh my, very very impressive. Hopefully this set will have a wide release in non-Lego toy stores, like the BTTF set, as I hardly ever order any set from S&H

Re: Lego Ideas (formerly Cuusoo)

I'm pretty sure it's a Lego Store/S@H exclusive and it's going to be available in fairly limited quantities. Don't wait around if you want one.

I've seen it in real life and I reckon it's sturdy enough to use in stop motion. mini/smile

Re: Lego Ideas (formerly Cuusoo)

The Back tot he Future set is fine for stop-motion.  The chars do fit in the vehicle by the slimmest of margins, though.

OldScratch was talking about the exo-suit.

Actually I'm pretty sure they don't both fit in if you build it according to the instructions. But you can modify it so they both do fit, relatively simply. And make the front of the Delorean slope properly at the same time.

Yeah, the Exo-Suit is a single production run (for some bizarre reason, it's the best Cuusoo/Ideas set yet in my opinion), so don't hang around if you want it.

No, they don't fit in the vehicle. I made a brickfilm featuring it a while back, and I put the characters in without modification, and they were not sitting up straight and would not hold still. I had to modify the car many times throughout the film. I actually made the roof wider. (I know this video isn't too good in animation quality, but just for example. mini/wink https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bxRiPPTIe3M )

Re: Lego Ideas (formerly Cuusoo)

I didn't mean that both could fit in at once; I'm sorry.  Lack of clarity.  I meant that a character can barely squeeze in, as I got "Doc" to do.

Two more Ideas sets have been announced: LEGO Birds and... ugh... The Big Bang Theory.
