Does the BiM admin panel look like the PunBB admin panel when you administrate the forums?
As far as I know. We're running PunBB, after all. It's totally separate from the admin controls for the rest of the site.

I made mine in ms paint, then made them into gifs in gimp. Both are free.
I use Adobe Fireworks CS3 - my first choice for pixel art and animated GIFs.
save the image in .png format, so the resolution is higher.

there is a tutorial on .gifs in gimp, but instead of drawing the images, put the pre-made .png images into seperate layers. Hope that helps.
