Lolol.

Your videos are on American websites correct? So your part of it.

Worst comes to worst we go back to the days of downloading brickfilms.

Re: USA To pass bill to make video streaming illegal

Well, I hope everyone is using the Bricks in Motion selected websites for they're music and sounds. I do (I use Incompetech and Flashkit like I mentioned before) but I believe, personally, this "bill" will not come out. Doesn't the government have other things to do the remove videos with, I dunno, a Bruno Mars song? On YouTube, the only video I have with content matched is a Brickfilm Music Video. And WMG is going around claiming voice recordings are theirs. This is kind of confusing.

That'll still be illegal if this bill is passed.

But Google would be scared of being sued most likely too. And they could easily change where they're based.

But anyone outside the States isn't due to pay the fine anyway.

They would not ban lego videos, or take them away. Because LEGO is earning more sales. Cos we are almost advertising lego

Re: USA To pass bill to make video streaming illegal

Guys let's just calm down alright? Even if this happens Google would definitely move to some other country (Canada or some European Union country...) being worried about this bill is just as being worried about J. Depp's career (it will do fine mini/smile)

Re: USA To pass bill to make video streaming illegal

If it happens, why cant we make a whole new website for posting brickfilms? Like BrickTube or something! Im from Norway, so LOL!

I need a new name! HELP

Well youtube pays me cash for brickfilms I doubt BrickTube would mini/lol so I'm loyal to YT...

Re: USA To pass bill to make video streaming illegal

Eh. I kind of like the sound of BrickTube. Remove all the other crap and add more brickfilms! mini/bigsmile
But people wouldn't get paid (like LarryStudios said) because YouTube has the money to but who knows if the owner of BrickTube can? mini/confused

It's not like most of us make money from our videos now.

They wouldn't bother even trying to trace that though.

That is illegal now though anyway. But remember this bill would only effect Americans.

Technically speaking, it's not. It's illegal to download bootlegged material, like songs and movies, but its not illegal to download original content that may contain bootlegged material (yet).

Re: USA To pass bill to make video streaming illegal

I would think LEGO would want their products promoted, wouldn't you?

I'm working on getting my studio back up and running, so stay posted...

Re: USA To pass bill to make video streaming illegal

It's good I can make flash animations.

Re: USA To pass bill to make video streaming illegal

LEGO would never forbid people to make brickfilms! Don't be silly! The other toy companies can only dream about such free advertisement as "Force Unleashed" and other videos... Kids see a vid like that they go to the store and buy some legos so that they could play with them or make these silly little brickfilms or maybe even great epic ones.

Re: USA To pass bill to make video streaming illegal

^This^

Now, I'm wondering, will this bill also make such videos as LPs and parodies illegal? Because I enjoy the Yogcast, NintendoCaprisun, and Machinima.

But frankly, this bill is quite short-sighted. As Larry already pointed out, most of the stuff that would be illegal would stop so much free advertising that LEGO, Majong, Valve, Nintendo, etc. are getting from such videos. I really disagree with such a thing, I hardly think it will pass, and if it does...I guess I'll have to be a criminal.

Re: USA To pass bill to make video streaming illegal

Ugh... I really hate the American government.
First chance I get, I'm movin' to Scotland.
I hope this doesn't go through. If it does we should protest.

Re: USA To pass bill to make video streaming illegal

So how's catchin' those criminals? Murderers, rapists, pedophiles, thieves, no, wait the U.S. government is trying to pass a pointless law to make more of the population criminals, and by the way the legal system works out - they'd probably do nothing at all to catch the people who go against the law.
