I liked this episode A LOT. I wrote a little review on another brony site:

Best episode ever. So many epic moments, and such awesome background music. It felt a lot longer than 22 minutes. I laughed out loud properly for the first time at this show ("What's wet and doesn't have a clue? Your face!") and the jokes were funnier than ever. The animation around the Graynbow Dash bit was astounding too.

That was so far definitely the best episode ever. I have to agree with everything hazzat said, I don't have much to add.

I loved the chaotic touches like the sun and moon swithcing every minute and applejack "not eating" the apple.

I expect great things from season 2.

While the first part was good, it felt kind of rushed. This episode, however, was actually paced perfectly and epic in scope (and I use 'epic' in the traditional, non-diluted sense of the word).

Simply wonderful! And Fluttershy was BOSS. Seriously, able to tow the balloon with passengers AND keep up with Rainbow Dash?

Also, Star Wars AND Star Trek homages in the same episode? AWWWW YEEAAAHH.

I absolutely enjoyed both episodes thus far of Season 2.
This season opener is going to be difficult to top.

Starting with season two, I've noticed Studio B has been experimenting with some more advanced and detailed facial construction and animation. This is most prevalent during the Star Wars-esque ending.

My dad is on his way to becoming a brony. He really enjoyed the new episodes. (he watched it without me! D: )
He says he can't believe that the animation is made in flash, he assumed it was something else.
