I disagree. It will last because this change will divide the social people from the serious people. Now, instead of getting people who just want to hang out with brickfilmers, we'll get serious brickfilmers who want to get better at it. See what I mean? We'll get serious people instead of trolls.

So yeah, I'm back from my mind.

Re: Community Forum Changes

sorry I misunderstood, I myself am a n00b at brick filming and only have 2 films. I do plan on getting better in my next film and this forum will help me get better. I totaly misread the point

Re: Community Forum Changes

Sorry but since the close this has been annoying me...
There had been a wealth of useful threads in the Community, as well as some pointless ones. But in the General Film section, which remains open, there are still some pretty useless topics. Like, the Triple Feature game, Guess the Movie thread, and 'What's the last film you watched?'
I feel that these types of threads, which remain open, are the exact type of thing you wanted to prevent by closing the Community; but by taking that solution, you closed a lot of useful threads that actually would help in film-making (Specifically I was thinking 'Photography' and 'Drawings and Other Art' but I am sure there are others I have forgotten.)

So the proposed solution is: Open back the Community, and close select threads to the general, the ones that don't have much with film making. Did that make any sense? mini/confused

Re: Community Forum Changes

I actually think "what was the last film you watched" is somewhat relevant.  It's usually about reviewing movies and talking about them in general. Since we make our own movies, I think it's good to talk about big movies and what makes them good/bad.

Leave those threads alone, thank you. The general filmmaking section is perfectly fine as it is. Can everyone stop whining? The decision has been made, it's not going to change. Deal with it.

Re: Community Forum Changes

Yes but people write stuff like

Mr. Bean
I lul'd my pants off

And that's not helpful at all. It leads to short, pointless conversation. Sure, I've seen some good reviews on it, but not often. Unless Max Butcher gets angry.

The question of the thread is "What was the last movie you watched?" People answer that and give a short opinion, giving fully written reviews isn't a necessity, and too long posts would probably not even be read. Nobody even has a problem with the General Film section, it's almost all about filmmaking and almost all of it is relevant.

Re: Community Forum Changes

Sheesh, it was just a suggestion...
Well I was wondering something else. Do we have, or ever have, a "What's your Favorite Brickfilmer" topic? (If we did I'm guessing it was in the Community--sigh...)

And I didn't agree with your suggestion, I didn't attack you or anything.

Re: Community Forum Changes

If you want the staff to look over and see which ones can get in and not get in then you will need many since this is a very active forum. That is what I mean with the possibility that this could go as slow as the reviews.
Yes I saw that mine was reviewed but I can't believe you defend the reviews for just moving into January. That's still over 6 months if not 7 months. Before I was okay with it taking 2 months I actually didn't care. But 6-7 months is plenty.

But yes I said from the very start that I won't say that I hate this desicion because I don't, but I don't want this to go slower and slower, also being completely inactive seem to do count as being immature.

Re: Community Forum Changes

It is GONE!?! Sad, I haven't been on lately and I came back to see what was going on, and I wondered why I couldn't find the Community Forum. The one thing that I think this site will lose by getting rid of it, is getting to know fellow members better.

No, just hidden. Prove yourself to be a mature member and it will be revealed to you once more.

Re: Community Forum Changes

Pfft, well that will never happen. ADVENTURE TIME!

No but seriously. Does inactivity count as immaturity?

Re: Community Forum Changes

No, but by being inactive you can't prove yourself. If you're inactive you won't notice that the Community forum's gone anyway because you're not here.

So would I not count as inactive?

People are still whining? mini/XD

Guess what? It's gone.

And it's not coming back.

Unless you want to hunt down Smeagol and have a one on one fist fght to win it back, then what I suggest is:

Deal with it.

What must I do to prove myself a mature member?

Make intelligent posts, be generally helpful, and post often but not excessively so, especially in the blue section.
