Walk Cycle Dolly Shot - 15 FPS vs 24 FPS

Well, found some use for the tracks and train stuff that I got in a batch of lego's.

Also my first test with my Logitech Webcam Pro 9000, and thus HD!

Tell me what you think. Is the 24 really that much better than the 15 FPS?

Re: Walk Cycle Dolly Shot - 15 FPS vs 24 FPS

The 24 fps was good. I wouldn't lift the arms up quite that high though. I think it looks best if the bottom of his hands are in line with the front of his legs. I also liked your set up too, the use of the train rails for a dolly track was a good idea.
If you're thinking of jumping to 24fps, perhaps try 20 first. I want to get up to 24fps, so I'm currently using 20fps as practice. Then once I get good with that I'm moving up to 24fps. The walking looks pretty good with 20fps though. I use a 7 frame walk cycle and it looks smooth.
But yeah, it was really good. mini/wink

@filmfire96

If you use a 7 frame walk cycle in a 20 frame shot, won't it be too fast if you use the same cycle in a 24 fps shot?

Yeah, thats what I'm saying. Your walk cycle looked good. But I heard mobiledeli used a 10 frame walk cycle (or something like that) in his film. So perhaps give the 20fps a go, you may prefer it. I still find it looks pretty smooth. mini/smile
