Topic: Critiquing a set

Just looking for some input on a set!  Things I could improve on, things that you liked.  Some of the pictures quality are disappointingly low so please disregard that fact but anything else is fair game!

Re: Critiquing a set

Is that CGI?

Re: Critiquing a set

Yeah it is, but what was it that tipped you off to that fact?

Re: Critiquing a set

Well it looks a little to shiny and perfect... and the back wall kind of has no texture or bumps.

Re: Critiquing a set

I actually thought it didn't look shiny enough. Anyway, what are you using? I'm guessing Blender for all the modeling, and something like LuxRender for rendering?

Also, to get the colors looking right, I'd suggest downloading the official LEGO color palette, here. Really handy.

CGI LEGO! Updated occasionally...

Re: Critiquing a set

I think shiny was the wrong word... what i think i meant was that all of the colors are exactly the same and alot of times legos have a little different shades.

Too Round on the studs in the back.

I like it! It looks like a space tunnel to a secret vault where a super-duper secret is kept. mini/tongue (My imagination is very odd mini/lol )

It also doesn't have lego written on the pieces.

Re: Critiquing a set

Second picture looks best IMO, but of course it depends on what look you're aiming for.

Here is the updated picture, tell me what you think!

Are you sure you aren't using $1000 lego set and a $10000 camera? mini/tongue

Re: Critiquing a set

Very nice.  Almost realistic.  Must have taken a long time, given what looks like full raytraced depth of field.  That 1x4 tile on the left may need some fixing.
