Twas The Night Before Christmas

Twas The Night Before Christmas (Youtube)

This is a slightly abrieviated version of the classic poem "A Visit From St. Nicholas" in LEGO! It is our holiday brickfilm for this Christmas.  Special thanks to all those in the forums for the invaluable help they gave us during the making of this film.

This reminds me of something......

Re: Twas The Night Before Christmas

Yah, we've seen that.  It was pretty good...  It served as one of our many inspirations for this film as well.

Re: Twas The Night Before Christmas

I think a bit of music in the background would have benefited this greatly. It was all a bit quiet, see.

Nice animation, though. The CGI parts seemed  a bit out of place (lit completely differently to the stop-motion parts) but impressive nonetheless.

Re: Twas The Night Before Christmas

Thanks. We couldn't find any really good christmas backround music, so we didn't put any in it.  The CGI shots were, of course, lit differently because it is darker outside than inside!  Thanks for the possitve feedback though.  Your comments have been dully filed and examined, and we will in the future try to make our films better quality.

Re: Twas The Night Before Christmas

This story has been used to death, but nevertheless, this is a decent video. I really liked how you did all the outside shots, I thought they looked pretty nice. The snow falling was a nice touch. The narration wasn't the highlight of the video, but it was pretty good...maybe next time use just a tad more emotion? The only problems with this film really is the animation and lighting. The screen for some reason seems overly bright, and the animation is very choppy. Thanks to the overly bright screen, it didn't really give a warm feeling of Christmas, but rather a cold, harsh, feeling. So next time, just try to make the lighting seem more "warm", since are you trying to film something heart-warming. There were a few light flickers as well, but nothing too bad. The sets were nice. And the outside shot of him opening the windows is done very well...it is kinda how I always pictured it when reading the story.

I think overall you guys did a good job, just try to work on the animation and lighting, and you will be set! Also, a bit more music would of really helped. My rating is a 5.5/10.

Into the darkness once more. I walk into the unknown. To a far better life than I've ever known.
