Re: Favorite Editing Software
final cut express 4 for mac it uses chroma key tools and easy key framing... not to mention that making things like flying and speacial effects ALOT easier to do

like green screening i mean sorry but gimp can mask too
and final cut has a screen tool
I use all freeware: I'm mainly using VirtualDub, for various sorts of things: cropping, zooming, panning, color correction, effects etc.
For other stuff like chroma keying (although I don't really do that often), I have Wax Debugmode.
For compositing, I use Pinnacle VideoSpin.
Unfortunately, I never had the ability of using something like AfterEffects or Sony Vegas, so aforementioned programs would be currently my "favourites", meaning that they are the ones I'm working with at the moment.
Sony Vegas Pro 8.0.![]()
I use Sony Vegas Platinum 8.0. I would consider that the best... only because its the only one I've used.. But if your going to use it for compiling all the frames into a movie.. I'd suggest using MonkeyJam or WMM.. Sony Vegas, from what I see... It "skips"..
Now.. which one of you got the Sony Vegas Pro 9 CRACKED?
Joking.. But you probably did.. ![]()
I use Vegas platinum for my work, but I've used Premier at school, and it was super confusing, I could only do anything by using what I know from other adobe software which I'm used to.
I don't think you need anything more advanced than vegas if you're doing stuff yourself, if you get into the industry you'd want to upgrade to something from apple or adobe.
Of the ones I've used, WMM is much, much better than iMovie. Trust me.
Of the ones I haven't, I'd go with Final Cut Express 4
Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD,not the best, not the worst.
Pretty much the 2 best choices are final cut pro and premiere pro. If you're on a mac, get final cut pro, for pc, get premiere. simple as that. I wouldn't recommend vegas
I already said on page one I am on a Windows
. Thanks for the feedback guys! This is what I was looking for in the first place!

Dude, vegas pro is awesome.
Of free editing software, which one has he most in it? I had VirtualDub, but I couldn't figure out how to use it to add sound.
Here's the thing: Vegas costs more than Adobe Premiere, and doesn't have as good features.
Adobe Premiere has a lot more features, but people who want simple things, need to buy Vegas
wax 2.0 is amazing! i want to try out virtualdub. i mainly use freeware. no i ONLY use freeware, although if i had the money to buy other software, i would prbly go withe vagas or adobe premiere. blender is good for CGI but i don't do cgi so yeah,
-flip
I use Sony Vegas Pro 9 and its been great. The only thing that makes me angry is that its so easy to get for free that almost everyone has it and that noone knows how to use it properly or do something great with it. I've used Ulead and some other Adobe trials and Sony Vegas has been the only really one i've kind of mastered. I sometimes get sick of it but i keep running back to it.
