Heh, I imagine the effects in Tron were very well done for their time, but looking at it now, it looks really, really fake; which they might have been going for, but it's looks pretty cheap. I'm looking forward to seeing how much they improve things for the sequel.
I actually think the effects in Tron couldn't be better. Because it wasn't aiming to have realistic CGI to fake stuff in real life. It was to create a 3D world based on Arcade games.
Cloverfield. Rented it from a library and it was AWESOME!
Anybody who watches an Uwe Boll movie with less-than-horrible expectations loses my respect.
Well I never heard of Uwe Boll before, but rest assured I will avoid him like the plague from now on ![]()
Mr. Deeds
I usually hate Adam Sandler movies, but this one was alright. While it was unrealistic and very predictable, it was enjoyable and I laughed at parts. Nothing special but rather entertaining. 3.5/5

I just watched Men in Black last night.
Seriously, if anybody ever describes 2001 as weird or hard to understand, I will kick them out of the room.
...are you suggesting that it isn't?
Reservoir Dogs
Finally got around to watching this, and it definitely didn't disappoint. Loved the non-linear storytelling.
What a coincidence...
2001: A Space Odyssey
Even better than I remembered. In my opinion has the greatest jump cut in cinematic history. I mean, I'm not really an evolutionist, but it was genius anyway. (Or wait - is it technically a jump cut? It's more of a... man I forgot the term... anyway, you're supposed to focus on the similarity between the two images, not the difference, so it's kind of the opposite of a jump cut)

I believe the term is "match cut."
Cha-ching.
Mindgame has a better grasp of cinematic terms than I do.

I'm not sure if I'm so impressed by that cut. It's definitely brilliant, but it's cited so many times that it almost gets overrated. I think my favorite editing moment in 2001 is the silent succession of shots getting closer and closer to HAL's eye on the pod as he lets go of the astronaut.
It's been so long I forget. ![]()
Sleepy Beauty
Great music and animation.
This is the perfect Disney movie, why aren't they making more films like this?
Somehow this didn't really seem to me like a kid's cartoon movie, as weird as that sounds. I just didn't feel like saying to my self 'I have a higher IQ than this', because that's usually what I'm thinking when I watch kid's cartoons, from any time period really. The music was mostly the thing I loved about this movie though, awesome classical piece by Tchaikovsky.
4/5
A touch of evil
I discovered a small theatre that plays these old classics in Brussels, which is awesome. I saw A touch of Evil by Orson Welles and I liked every bit it!
A Serious Man
Definitely one of the best Coen films. Not quite up there with Fargo, but definitely among the likes of No Country for Old Men or Barton Fink. It's dark and hilarious; I loved it.
Batman Forever.
Pretty good, but why are two face and riddler gay?
Believe it or not, this is (Other Batman fans will roast me alive and eat my guts) is the only batman film I hadn't seen 'til friday.
