Topic: Ldraw/Mlcad/Leocad

I have been looking at the Ldraw.org conversion tutorials but they use DOS and i am on windows 7 mini/blankexpression

Is it possible to convert the .ldr files from Ldraw/Mlcad/Leocad in after effects?

Re: Ldraw/Mlcad/Leocad

Leocad can directly export .3DS files.

No, AE cannot. AE is a video editor - MLCad and Leocad are 3d apps that use a specialized file type.

Re: Ldraw/Mlcad/Leocad

You can download Blender for free (don't ask for help), or buy an expensive but profesional 3d program like Carrara 6.0 or Maya

Re: Ldraw/Mlcad/Leocad

Well, if you did need help with Blender, I could always help out, because I'm one of the few animators who can actually use Blender for CGI shots. Leo's the best though, he amswered a lot of my questions, and make some great movies, like Plant, with it.

Re: Ldraw/Mlcad/Leocad

Thanks for the kind offer BG, and Leo I'll download 3DS max trial mini/smile

Re: Ldraw/Mlcad/Leocad

Many 3d software packages can use .3DS files, not just 3DSMax. Blender, C4D, Carrara - whatever you're using can probably import them.
