It's not that a plastic dog gets run over, it's just the idea of it in general that makes it sad. The plastic dog isn't the part that makes people who think that's funny messed up, I'm just saying that the idea of that happening is a bit messed up.
You know, no one would be laughing if it were a real dog being run over.
When I was little, we used to have a few of those action figures (the cool ones, with heaps of articulation points) and I'd make them fight and have them kick each others head off, and throw them all around the backyard, prentending I was a huge monster, and it was funny, but if I saw a huge monster throwing people around, or someone punch someone's head off, I would be horrified.
The difference between Lego comedic violence is so different from real life violence, they're on different planets.
