Has anyone seen District 9 yet?

YES. It was really good. Better than I was expecting.

Spoiler (click to read)

Some bits were a bit "eww...", like when Wirkus van de Mure's fingernails came off, and when he threw up on the cake. I was actually quite pleased when that army guy's head was ripped off because, I mean, he had that coming.

Also, I finally saw Pulp Fiction. Loved it. My favorite scene was the bit in the car with Marvin.

Vincent: Aww, I just shot Marvin in the face...
Jules: Why the f**k'd you do that?!
Vincent: Well I didn't mean to do it, it was an accident.
Jules: Oh, man, I seen some crazy ass s**t in my time but-
Vincent: Just chill out man, I told you it was an accident, you probably, you went over a bump or something...

Pulp fiction = awesome mini/XD

My favourite part was the whole Samuel L. Jackson speech, the Ezechiel part mini/bigsmile  Samuel L. Jackson did a great job in that movie

I saw " The Exorcist " Known as the scariest movie ever... It was rather funny then scary...

Four Rooms
Film with 4 director's each doing their own story about a room in a hotel with Tim Roth appearing as a bellboy in each. The first story is dreadful, the second is okay, the third is amazing and the last is fantastic! Tarantino actually has a real role and Rodriguez did the 3rd story. mini/smile Best possible combination haha!

The Diving Bell and the Butterfly

Quite good, though I may have been expecting more. Some of the imagery was interesting but I was rather underwhelmed on the whole.

Grizzly Man

It's weird, this film is actually pretty sad, but it got a lot of laughs when I watched it at college. Timothy Treadwell is a bizarre, bizarre character.

π

The visual style is interesting, and I liked the direction and editing even if they're not necessarily what I would aim for in my films. I think the plot got rather hokey towards the end, unfortunately.

THE ROOM

I watched this again in my dorm with a lot of people. It was incredibly awesome.

Race to Witch Mountain

It was much better than I expected!

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Ponyo

Magical and entrancing. Miyazaki really is a master of his craft.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

G. I. Joe: The Rise Of Cobra

It was a pretty good film, though they could have put more effort in scriptwriting and special effects. It also had some of the oldest cliché's ever when it comes to american films.

District 9

FLUCKING AWESOME

The first hour started off good as you went through the video narration. And it only got better with the huge action in the last half. I will try not to give much away.

It seemed like a good metaphor for discrimination and how the public treats real aliens.

It also seemed like a freaking awesome action movie. This is probably the best I've seen in cinema; it was excellent!

30 Million dollar budget seemed like 200 Million.

Hmmmmm...oh yeah!

Wanted

An ordinary film, no plot exactly, I wouldn't recommend to watch, very...well, boring. mini/tongue

G.I JOE Third time seeing it. My fav movie of 2009. Its a bit unbelieveable, but, hell, I loved it.

Persist.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Iron Man

After over a year procrastinating with the DVD stuck on my desk, I decided to watch it.....on Sky mini/rolleyes

I like the way how Iron Man isnt a scrawny nerd who cant get anywhere in life, or a guy who is blessed with super-awesome powers, or a guy who has a medical experiment go wrong or something sciency. He's a guy who changes and un-intentionally becomes a super-hero.

The charaghters are incredibly emotive. You have the main guy who you laugh with and are alongside him. You have the heroine/hot chick who you feel pity for and affection. You have the most annoying and assholish villan ever who you want to punch. Its genius writing.

Overall, one of the best Superhero movies I have ever watched -aside from Batman (who is awesome).

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Sin City

It was... terrible. Really bad. I mean, really really really bad. The whole "black and white with some red every now and again" was kinda cool at the start, but got annoying, and the plot was stupid.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Solaris (1972)

Some of the emotional restraint used in the film was hard to get used to, but it sure is profound. I need to see more Tarkovsky.

Killer of Sheep

I absolutely have to see this again, since I watched while really tired, without the influence of coffee.

You'd better believe it!

Superman Returns

The 3rd time i've been forced to watch it, and it's the biggest piece of fantastic fail that i have ever seen.

If by some holy miracle you haven't seen it, Don't watch it.
