There was a book written about this kind of thing. This guys son was failing school, so the father let his son drop out of school as long as he watch 3 movies with him a week, whether it be at home or at the theater. Then they would sit and discuss the movies and critique them after they finished.

I think the kid wound up becoming a successful movie critique-er for some big paper or something like that. I don't quite remember.
