Re: Mac Or PC

You can use either. If you've already got a Mac capable of animation, you should stick with that and save yourself $500 for other animating software/hardware. What kind of a Mac is it?

Re: Mac Or PC

CapedKid, the QCP9k manual funtions only work on a PC, so its basically obsolete. You can do 1 of 2 options:

A) Get a PC and use the 9k
B) Sell your 9k and buy a 4k

Re: Mac Or PC

Laptop is good for animating as you can put it on your desk easier. However, a desktop would be much better if you have the space (and money) because they're generally faster and have more memory.

Re: Mac Or PC

Why buy more hardware to run Windows? You already have a computer capable of running both Mac OS and Windows. Why not just download the beta of Windows 7, dual boot it, and use Boot Camp. After that runs out, it's only like $100-$200 to buy the full version, which is less than you'd spend on a computer. You don't need to buy another computer just for animating. Use what you've got. Hope this helps. mini/wink

Re: Mac Or PC

hmmm, well Macs don't run the 9K but they do run the 4K which is another great camera (and is cheaper then the 9K) you can find it on eBay (it would still save you at least 300$ on buying a PC)

So I would stick with mac.

Don't be fooled, my avatar is a facade of conformity.

Re: Mac Or PC

I'd buy a nice laptop, and keep some money for some nice editing software.

I think he already has a 9000 though.
