I'm having a problem with my CQP9k...

A couple of nights ago I filmed a short clip with it via the logitech software and it was working perfectly. Just now, I tried to use to to take a couple of shots and the camera is not being detected by the software. The operating system can detect the camera so I know the plug is fine. When I double click the webcams icon in devices, it opens the logitech software. however the software still refuses to acknowledge the cameras existance. The camera still works with MSN so I know the hardware is fine. I've tried reinstalling the software but when the isntallation tells me to plug in the webcam (which I do) it still isn't detected.

What could possibly have gone sour in the past couple of nights? Has anyone else experienced this? FYI, I'm running Windows 7 64bit.

I had a similar problem but it worked when I restarted the computer.

Re: QuickCam Pro 9000 Discussion, Tips and Issues

Donsalvatore- Yes my QuickCapture does look a bit flashy but I'm not sure if I have Logitech Vid, could you tell me what that is?

Sean- Perhaps you should try reinstalling you're animation program, that's the only solution I can think of.

BrightShadow99- Maybe you have the same problem I'm having. Check the RightLight settings and make sure it's off. Hope that helped.

You should check for new updates. Logitech Vid is like a Vlog service that you get with the newest update. If you have Vista, do a search.

Tried restarting, tried reinstalling, tried every one of my 8 USB ports. Still having exactly the same issue.

What type of animation program do you use? you might want to google "Camera detecting Problems" for that program and camera.

Sean, that still doesn't determine where the problem is. Try putting the QCP9k on another computer.

Re: QuickCam Pro 9000 Discussion, Tips and Issues

The issue is resolved. Turns out there's some incompatibility between the logitech software and the windows 7 gadgets.

RightLight is in the third tab. You should now be able to turn RightLight off. I'll post a pic in a second.

Re: QuickCam Pro 9000 Discussion, Tips and Issues

alright, I might get the exact same answer every time that it will not work, but by any chance, since I have the quickcapture software on my mac, from my quickcam pro 4000, would that be eligible for the quickcam 9000? since the software that comes with it doesn't work.

or in any case, has anyone gotten the quickcam pro 9000 to work on mac?

Not that I've heard of.  They sell the Quickcam Vision Pro which phyiscally I believe is the same camera as the QCP9000, but of course different Mac software to run it.  But BEWARE, the software for the Vision Pro does NOT allow for manual focus which is deadly for stop-mo animators.  Might be best to stick with your QC 4000.

Re: QuickCam Pro 9000 Discussion, Tips and Issues

I am having a prob. EVERY time I put on the minifig for masking the lighting changes. AND I have blocked out the light from the window AND I am wearing a black T-shirt. Does the colour of the room affect the lighting?

Bumpbumpettybump

I noticed that my QP9k doesn't focus in too close. Is that a normal shortcoming of the 9k, or is there something wrong?

Yeah, mine only focuses on stuff like, 2 inches away or more. I think. mini/sad

Persist.

Re: QuickCam Pro 9000 Discussion, Tips and Issues

BrickLord, the best you can do for that is zoom your camera in just a little and place it a bit farther away. Then it can focus in on it.

I had already figured that out, BG.
