I think the QCP9000 has a max resolution of 1600x1200 which is only 2MegaPixels.  I'm not sure how you could get 8MP.

Perhaps your video was Uncompressed, that would make it incredibly large.

Re: QuickCam Pro 9000 Discussion, Tips and Issues

No it was compressed and I used the 3264x2448 (8MP)* thing in the logitech-software

Re: QuickCam Pro 9000 Discussion, Tips and Issues

How do you get really HQ movies like the really good brickfilmers? Mine always look a bit fuzzy. mini/confused

Re: QuickCam Pro 9000 Discussion, Tips and Issues

Adjust the exposure and gain, also, how many lights do you use? You'll get better picture with better lighting.

Re: QuickCam Pro 9000 Discussion, Tips and Issues

When all of your settings are on manual and you still have a fuzzy image, it's most likely due to the fact your lighting needs improvement. Don't be afraid to put several desk lamps close to your set (though not too close or the LEGO could melt) to make things super bright, then compensate for that with faster exposure time and less gain in the settings.

Any video that is 3264x2448 even compressed is going to be MASSIVE.  The highest res video format I know of it 1920x1080, and that's huge.  DVDs are only 720x480.  I shoot all my stuff at 1600x1200, but then resize down to 856x480 (square pixel equivalent to DVD 720x480).  So if I were you I'd shoot all future animation at a much smaller res.  To salvage what you did, either resize you frames or your video down to 480 height.  The best way I know to resize either a sequence of images an AVI video file is to you a free app called VirtualDub.

One more thing, if you have a QCPro 9000, I think the highest res you can really achieve is 1600x1200.  Anything above that is just the software making the image bigger but with no real better resolution.

mini/twitch OHHHH.  I should have thought of that. That explains it. I only use one tiny lamp. mini/lol I guess I'll go get my dads.

Re: QuickCam Pro 9000 Discussion, Tips and Issues

Ok, BIG BIG BIG BIG BIG BIG PROBLEM: I plugged in the logitech camera, and then it said to either close the program or wait for it to respond, but when I hit close the program and it closed, I couldn't open it up again in the small thingy at the bottom right of the screen with all the really tiny items. When I tried to install it again, it said it's still on there and it can't reinstall it. But when I open up a frame capture program, the bar thingy dosen't come up on the side, so I have no control over it whatsoever, and it's kinda making me a bit mad right now!

Help?

Guys, I'm thinking about getting a new computer. Defintely not a Vista, possibly a Windows 7. I need to know
does the Logitech Quickcam Pro 9000 works with Windows 7? All manual features.

Have you tried setting the White Balance to Manual and then adjusting to get colors you like?

Also, maybe your gain is too high, which could make the colors seem to glow and look blurry as a result.

Could you post a screenshot or picture illustrating what you mean?

Re: QuickCam Pro 9000 Discussion, Tips and Issues

We know this has been mentioned before, but how do you get Monkey Jam to film in widescreen with the quickcam 9000. We've heard it said before that it automatically films in widescreen, but when we opened Monkey Jam with it, it was still a square screen.  How do you make it widescreen?

Re: QuickCam Pro 9000 Discussion, Tips and Issues

You don't. There aren't any settings in Monkey Jam that I know of that will allow different aspect ratios; so if you have a webcam, you're probably going to be getting fullscreen. If you have a MiniDV, or other camera that shoots in widescreen, then you will be getting a widescreen picture.

Yeah, filming in widescreen with the 9000 isn't possible with MonkeyJam. You could, however, cut off the top and bottom after animating in VirtualDub or something like that.

No it doesn't. I have Sony HVR-V1P and it shoots widescreen, but in MonkeyJam still shoots in square.
I have to change aspect ratio in Sony Vegas afterwards.

I don't know about VirtualDub, but If you're gonna cut top and bottom off it doesn't change aspect ratio.
Picture is still wrong aspect only you miss some of the picture.

Yes it does.

Here's the original at 4:3.

Chop off some of the frame and - incredible! It's 16:9!
