Re: Tectonic Man Episode 2: The Uncatchables

That was fast, you released two movies in ten minutes.

Re: Tectonic Man Episode 2: The Uncatchables

Why thank you mini/bigsmile

Re: Tectonic Man Episode 2: The Uncatchables

That was very entertaining, and sort of like a 'big-budget sequel' to the first one.  The lighting and look of the sets were all great as in the first one, though the plot seemed to bring little new to the table from the previous one.  Then again, that is in line with most of the old shows this is modeled after!

I had to laugh out loud at the "Look over there! *Smack*" bit.

Oh my god! Tectonic Man was actually the first brickfilm I saw! Must watch the sequel now!

EDIT: Seen it now! That was great, although I liked the previous more. Can't wait til' part three!

Re: Tectonic Man Episode 2: The Uncatchables

Could we have a link to Tectonic Man please?

- edit -

A very nice film! Good animation and the old-timey effect worked well. My only qualm is that if his alter-ego is a "mild mannered garbage collector" then why does he have a big house with his own butler?

Re: Tectonic Man Episode 2: The Uncatchables

I didn't think it was as great as the previous one. It still had a little charm but I didn't find myself enjoying it as much as I should. By the end, I had started to drift away. The animation was considerably better and the black and white effect is very effective still. The voices were probably the highlight of the film, and I think that is what made the previous one so enjoyable. The voices, story and technical qualities all add to the authenticity of the film and it feels like something made in the past. But the plot premise seemed a little too simple and with the lack of jokes, this film was like a cake with no icing.

Re: Tectonic Man Episode 2: The Uncatchables

I quite like how this was intended to look like a 1920-1950 black and white filmstrip. Although if I really make a comparison, this doesn't really look like a old B&W film.

Maybe it's just me, but the camera views doesn't really remind me of an old B&W film and insted, a typical brickfilm. Also, some of the voice overs' sound quality doesn't fit with the music and the rest of the film.
But the rest is pretty OK.

The story... I don't think I need to comment on, because I think it's intended to be simple.

Overall, a decent little brickfilm with an 1920-1950 B&W film quality.

Ha ha - I'm starting to really like Techtonic Man. This episode isn't perfect, but it's still an enjoyable film worth watching. Do you happen to have any higher quality versions?

Re: Tectonic Man Episode 2: The Uncatchables

Yeah. I'm planning on Brickshelfing a HQ version but I'm having some weird technical difficulties right now. I'll get back to you on that. thanks for the comments!

Re: Tectonic Man Episode 2: The Uncatchables

Nice, I really liked it. The voice-acting sounded like it came from the 50's, which was really good. I thought the story was somewhat the same as part one, but the rest was perfectly fine and I enjoyed watching it.

Re: Tectonic Man Episode 2: The Uncatchables

That was very good, though not as exciting as the first one, which felt like it was in a larger world. Here everything felt rather desolate and empty, but even so it was pretty fun to watch. The technical aspects are all wonderful as with the last one, and you've done a great job replicating the style of the old TV shows. I'm greatly anticipating the next one!

That was a stylistic choice. We were going for a "film noir" feel with the lighting and atmosphere for this second installment so we could expand our horizons. Yet I see your point. Thanks for the constructive comment mini/bigsmile
