I just found out that it's showing here in a couple of weeks. mini/smile

On the subject...

Che: Part One

I don't know exactly why I liked this, but I really did. It's remarkably fragmented and not really driven by much plot, but it somehow pulls you in and establishes an atmosphere that feels quite authentic.

Transformers

Spoiler (click to read)

I knew from the beginning that Megatron wasn't the fallen. I also wasn't surprised about that girl being one of the Decipticons. It had some funny moments like the mom being on pot. The scene where Optimus was the bad-ass weapon was sadly short lived though. My favorite   new characters were the smart cars, and Leo. I was sad though that Rachet didn't have a speaking part. mini/sad

I'm so psyched about this month; one of my favorite arthouse theaters is showing George Washington, Aguirre: The Wrath of God, Soy Cuba and The 400 Blows.

UP

Wonderful. Very, very, simple storyline, but usually all Pixar movies are like that.

I found this to be the most emotional, funny and downright entertaining Pixar film of them all.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
I thought that Transformers was pretty sweet, but since it was pretty much the same format as the first (explosion, Megan Fox, robots ripping each other to pieces, ILM being awesome) it just didn't seem as good. Don't get me wrong, I loved every minute of it, it's just that "mindblowingly awesome" doesn't get much better when it was done right the first time around...

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

It seemed like the CGI got progressively better near the end of the movie... at the beginning everything looked pretty fake and obviously CGI, at the end, it looked... like freaking real.

The CGI is probably the only good thing about this movie, no character development whatsoever, extremely dry plot, I zoned out a couple of times amongst all the explosions, I actually had a hard time remembering most of the movie. Cheesy (as it seemed) family jokes throughout the movie were not that amusing.

There are parts where the robots look actually real and parts where its just ridiculously fake looking.

the whole movie was like a trailer, btw.
flashes of helicopters and news every !@#$ 10 seconds.

So if there wasn't extremely crazy action the ENTIRE 2 hours and 30 minutes this movie would have been the worst movie in the entire history of movies.

5/10

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
LBJ nailed my personal feelings about the film exactly. There was one scene in the film (the one with the small Decepticon robot humping Megan Fox's leg]) that pretty much summed up the film for me: cheesy, childish, dumb. It's nothing more than some simple fast-food movie entertainment: it was like watching a two and a half hour long Big Mac menu.

Although there was this mentally challenged person next to me that kept starting to moan whenever Megan Fox was in screen. That was the best thing about the film, for me.

You guys should be ashamed of yourselves. You realize you're actually giving money to Michael Bay and giving him an incentive to continue his dirty work.

Well, I had a great time going there with 7 of my friends, so I don't mind giving away some of my money to a rubbish film.

Explosions and robots with swords make up for most of the bad movie.  Megan Fox and Isabel Lucas make up for the rest. It's all about eye candy.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

This is probably sacrilege, but I really don't find Megan Fox all that attractive. At least, not enough to make yet another Michael Bay gratuitous-CGI-and-explosion-fest worth the price of admission.

Last movie I saw was Defiance. Started out slow, but turned out to be a pretty good film by the end. The casting director let one slip through, since Daniel Craig and Liev Schreiber couldn't pass for third cousins, let alone brothers, but the true story it was based on was amazing enough to smooth over that bit of blind casting. I'd say 3.5/5.

EDIT: And Droid, that is the greatest image ever.

I loved it, iot wasn't as good as the first, but Optimus Prime owned.

Though WHen Optimus Prime dies, he's supposed to turn grey. People need to pay attention to detail. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h_ULg4RSy5Y

Never had a problem with a Micheal Bay film. I hope we can get at least a Duology on Unicron, as that would be to much to put in one film.
@maggosh I don't believe in doing that, I only did it wth X-Men Origins: Wolverine because I had no monies.

The Virgin Suicides

I can't really think of a word to describe this movie. I know I thought it was good. But idk.

Even though I knew what to except from the title, I was still creeped out by the sudden multiplying of the suicides at the end.

Soundtrack was great. Cinematography: 9/10
