The Hungarians don't have Christopher Lee.

Personally I think Dracula A.D. 1972 is the best hammer dracula.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Up

Yes, I saw it again. In 3D this time, and unlike with previous 3D films I have seen, the effect did not distract or take away from the film. No nasty gimmicks where they throw random objects at the camera to get the audience to go "ZOMG its closur!", no red/blue all over the place, no uncomfortable eyeballs! Plus, if you absolutely had to take the glasses off, you could still see what was going on; it was just a bit blurry. So, that said, I enjoyed the 3D.

And I enjoyed the actual film all over again as well. I'll definitely be buying the DVD, or Blu-Ray, depending on whether or not I get a Blu-Ray drive for my computer, when it comes out.

Terminator: Salvation:

Finally, after much buildup, I finally got to see this.

This film reminds me of Indiana Jones 4 somehow. It just has that air of trying really, really hard but falling short of that little something that makes it a Terminator/Indiana Jones movie.

Plot? I'm dissapointed. The film made no risks or twists, which was what I was expecting. 'The Sarah Connor Cronicles' made risks by sending the Connor family forward in time, and giving Kyle Reece a brother. Star Trek made risks by creating a alternate pathway, or 'Destiny', and by having the old Spock meet young Spock.
The plot to 'T4' is something I'm sure you could do better. Its merely the pilot episode of 'The John Connor Cronicles', and the whole movie is clearly a setup for a sequel.

There is a rule in the movie buisness that appears to have been lost in time: Just by leaving the story definitely open for a sequel (and I dont mean like in 'The Incredibles' when it can wrap itself up fine) DOES NOT MEAN THAT THERE WILL BE A SEQUEL. Film studios only give you the right to make a sequel if the previous movie is GOOD.

The movie was good, yes. I like how the barren world of the future is staged, and the CG Terminators and all their transformers were nicely pulled off. But no matter how much Icing you put on the cake, it doesnt stop the cake from tasting bad
Christian Bale annoyed me. I still dont think he stopped putting on the Batman voice. Did a Terminator infect Bale with throat cancer in the hope the movie wont make any sequels, and so no-one will ever know who eventually won? I know that Bale doesnt have that voice in real life, so I find it insulting, like he's teasing us. (Come to think about it, after his famous F-Bombs on set, I think he was teasing the film crew). Did I mention that Bales overall acting performance was poor? Dont kill me Bale....

He also has what looks like a wife who's pregnant, but the movie just assumes we know who she is. After a little research, I can confirm for sure she was Kate, but there is the slight drawback that none of the original cast (apart from voicework by Linda Hamilton) appear in this movie. It took me a few scenes before I realised who she might be, and even then, Connor may have just found a different girl to Kate - because she looks NOTHING like Kate from T3. I hate it when different actors try and play the same role. It prevents the role from becoming iconic - like Arnold Schwarzenegger as the original Terminator.

Speaking of Arnie:

Spoiler (click to read)

The whole audience applauded when Arnold showed up. Not only was I blown away by the amazing CG facials, but for just one moment, I felt like I was in a Terminator movie.
But then s soon as Arnold had arrived, he was burned up to look just like any normal Terminator, and all fear, value and awesomeness from this scene was instantly removed. It was the worst end fight I have ever seen in my life, and I actually watched 'Howard the Duck'.

I want more Arnold. I want the rest of the action sequence to star him. Why couldnt they have had him burn up later? I want to see a whole stockpile of Arnolds! I want a conveyor belt full of them! I want Connor to run into a room to find cubicle after cubicle of Arnolds! I want them all to turn in unison with red eyes at Connor! Just give me more Arnold!

Anyways, so I would give this movie 3/5 Stars. It could have been awesome, but just feels like a setup for what I hope is a damn good movie, because if T5 is no good, then in the words of Bale: "WE ARE DEAD! WE ARE ALL DEAD!!"

(BTW: Those lines were so obviously just put in the movie for the trailer)

(BTW2: I have a brilliant idea for a Terminator Salvation in 5 Seconds)

Dead Snow

This is a Norwegian film dubbed in English so I really can't talk about the acting itself.  It's everything you'd expect from a zombie movie. Guts, cursing, a little bit of horror, and of course some perversion. However, if you enjoy extremely pale people covered in blood fighting Nazi Zombies in the snow, this film is for you.

We feed the world
An austrian documentary about food we eat, how it is "produced" and how it influences the life of the people in the so called 3rd world. Along the way they speak about the role of agricultural subsidies, genetically modified food and seeds and the follows of profit maximization of global acting companies. Nothing new to me, but who wants to know more about the things he/she is eating should watch it.

Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins

I give this a enjoyable thumbs up! The action is bloody awesome (and CGI). And I just love the color theme of the movie

If your Terminator fan, you'll enjoy it. although I can't say it succeeded into the other 3 films. It just had another feeling.

Spoiling time!

Spoiler (click to read)

I was sorta pist they didn't use the awesome theme from T2 mini/madhead well yeah the beat for like 5 freaking seconds. I also noticed some footage in the trailer wasn't in the film. The Action scene with the giant robot was f*cking awesome!!!!!

"I'll Be Back", facepalming, cheesy and hilarius at the same time. they sorta went to far with the references of the previous films, it's sorta lost it's seriousnes because of that.

For the ending I hoped more, but it was pretty meh. I hoped John Connor would send Kyle Reese back in time. but that doesn't happen until 2029 right ?.

I give this movie 3 and a half terminators out of 5.

Next up is... I can't believe I'm gonna see this film.... Transformers 2: Revenge of The Fallen....

I'm just gonna see this film because I wanna see a movie with some friends I don't see much.

What? Seriously? The whole thing looked so nauseating to me from seeing the trailer, like a car mechanic's workshop in Hell.
