Never been a fan before, But this... wow, this was amazing, go see it now.

I watched Indiana Jones and the Final Crusade, then The Truman Show. Both were good films for different reasons. Peter Weir was totally ahead of his time...   and Spielberg is a genius.

Robert De Niro is really menacing in this. But it's also kind of funny to hear him with that Southern accent.

I haven't seen many Werner Herzog films (I've seen Stroszek and The Enigma of Kaspar Hauser which probably weren't the best introduction)  How much I like Fitzcarraldo will probibly have a lot to do with how quickly I see Aguirre.  But I really have missed watching films, making the directory was a real setback in my movie watching.

Last month I got the three Terminator movies for my birthday, I finally watched "Rise of the Machines" about a week ago, here's my verdicts on  the films:

Terminator
I'd already seen terminator 2 so this was helpful to fill the gaps that I didn't understand. It's a very good film but is starting to look very dated now especially the hilarious damaged Arnie Model with the light pink skin, It is still a classic and enjoyable to watch despite that though. My favourite moments were the part at the night club and the police station. I liked the robot skeleton but it wasn't very smooth animation compared to what we get nowadays. I really liked the score for the film, it fitted the era perfectly and sounded awesome. I also like the score because it's doesn't try to be an epic orchestral score but still helps the moods of scenes perfectly. The theme should be more well known as it is great.

Terminator 2: Judgement Day
One of the only sequels that is better than the original, I preferred the story in this film as I felt it wasn't just John and Sarah running away from the terminator throught out the film. My favourite parts of this film were the Arcade scene, the Hospital, Cyber Dyne building and the ending part with the factory. The score in this film was more epic and orchestral than the previous and I missed that. Definately watch this if you only watch one of them.

Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines
People had already told me that this wasn't very good and the fact that it is by a different director which has ruined a series before lowered my expectations. I started watching this and something that got my attention was the fact that judgement day hadn't happened and that John was a paranoid hobo. Throughout the film I was waiting for it to be bad and it never happened. I really enjoyed the film not as much as the others but I still enjoyed it. Arnie's performance in this wasn't as good as T1 or T2 but it wasn't too bad. I liked the ending and seeing the war start.

I've noticed some recurring themes throught out the trilogy:

Nice, I bought There Will Be Blood and 300  today for £14. Both are 2-disc, I really like the there will be blood case as it is made of cardboard and the middle slides out and the discs slip into sections with the "Oil" speech from near the beginning on them. It looks really cool, I might take some pictures if anyone is interested.

A lot of people complained about the cardboard case, which I don't understand; it's really awesome. Be sure to check out the extras.

Angels & Demons

Nice film coming at 2 hours, 20 minutes.

Kept me at the edge of my seat; really exciting.
