Rules are rules, even when you're a Scottish vampire.

Not too pleased with this one. I filmed most of it back in November, when I'd just moved into my uni accomodation, so I hadn't really set any of my lights up properly. That said, thanks again to my great voice actors, who I think really carried this short.

Not familiar with Vampire Town? Check out the previous brickfilm in this series:

The next episode, Vampire Egress, has been scripted. Don't know when I'll get around to animating it, but hopefully quite soon.

Re: Vampire Booze

Some of your best comedy here man. Your animation on a whole for dialogue scenes has really improved as well! I think my favorite part is the scene where all the bad guys are sitting in a rehabilitation group. It reminded me a lot of that scene from Wreck it Ralf where all the bad guys from various video games had a similar meeting. Very well done! mini/bigsmile

Re: Vampire Booze

Nice video, and a good accent for the Scottish vampire. However, I think you should try work on that light flicker, it was distracting at times. Also, why did the one vampire's cloak hood change mini/tongue ?

Re: Vampire Booze

Light flicker has always been a big issue for me. Normally it's not this bad, but there are a lot of factors I don't have control over, like big windows I have trouble covering.

The changing hood was a bit of fun mini/smile I thought it would be fun to mess around with discontinuity.

Loving the Vampire Town series, jampot! The rainy mood, the voice acting, and the overall context of this film are great.

Thank you!

I'm hoping to do these more frequently from here on in. At the moment only Vampire Egress is written (by my friend Chicken Bond) but I have plans for Vampire Karate, Vampire Furniture, Vampostmodernism and one that doesn't have a name yet. Of course, the line-up might change when I actually attempt to script some of these others, as is normally the way with my ideas for brickfilms.

Awesome video.  Very well paced and humorous.

My profile picture is deep fried lol

Re: Vampire Booze

Perhaps we could get some subtitles?
The accents are so well done, that they're difficult to understand.

Re: Vampire Booze

Nice job!  Thanks for letting me be a part of it!  I liked the lighting.

Re: Vampire Booze

Great execution on a great concept. (Great actors too). Even with the tad bit of light flicker the lighting overall was still pretty good; it kinda kept the sense of "these are vampires, remember". Something that I take for granted when filming is dialog scenes. I don't pay them as much mind as an action based scene, and when I get to it I realize it may be as much or even more work than the other. I think anyone who can pull of an either exciting or, in this case, comedic scene based solely on dialog deserves a great deal of credit. To this, I say well done.
