Topic: Knife Twirl Test

A quick test I made for Seven Assassins; I wanted to get some feedback on which looks best.  Personally, I feel like I prefer the motion of the first, but the framing/composition of the second.  The third movement is a little extra thing I threw in, which the character, Elmo, performs after speaking a line of dialogue.  Despite me animating it after the first two, it somehow looks worse.  Any thoughts/feedback?

Third one actually is the nicest (to me at least).

Both the first and second look almost the same without any notable variation.  They are both really good, but at one point the motion seems a bit too slow.  This is the point where Elmo flips the knife up and is holding it by the ball on the hilt.  This could easily be solved by deleting just a few of the right frames (so long as the actor's motion are isolated and are the only motion in the shot at that point).

This is only a minor detail, though.  And I likely wouldn't have even noticed it if you hadn't just posted this clip by itself.  You are getting very good.  And I particularly like how some of the more sharp light shines off of the dagger onto the character.

The animation felt a little awkward in the second, but the first and third are great. I too like the third one a lot; it feels more fancy and more like something someone would actually practice doing. It reminds me a lot of a butterfly knife. I think either one would work really well, though.
