Dyland wrote:I think it really is a great metaphor for the feelings we animators and creators can get when we shut out the rest of the world temporarily to work on our craft. - That being the exact inspiration for John Lennon when he wrote the song. And, the overall presentation of the song is a great match to my feelings too. - It's a little sad, in a way, yet, is open - almost uplifting in a sort of "alone" way. And, though the three part harmonies are what makes the song classic, the instrumental version is great too. Everything the Beatles did, when constructed, has some sort of masterpiece (or masterpieces) lying within.
Definitely; it certainly feels apt in relation to Brickfilming. It also speaks to me on a more personal level. This past year I've suffered several personal setbacks and defeats when I thought I had it all figured out, and and this point I almost feel like I'm drifting from day to day with no idea of what to do for the future. I won't go into detail for obvious reasons, and I certainly am working on things and making plans, including working on Brickfilming (because willingly spending hours on end in a darkened room playing around with little plastic figures is totally the best thing to do with one's life, amirite?) but I often wonder if I've just shut myself up in my personal little Nowhere Land and they'll just end up being Nowhere Plans.
But enough on that topic, I should really get to know The Beatles a bit better.
I think it's debatable whether podcasts count as 'music,' however, I definitely listen to them too. Sometimes, just the soothing sound of some voices compliment the atmosphere of writing or animating, and, every once in a while, can really be inspiring in their own way!
Oh, I wasn't trying to suggest that they'd be considered music, I was just saying I sometimes listen to them as an alternative to music when I'm animating.
On a side note, I need some particular music for my upcoming film. Basically it's for an opening/introductory scene--I need something like an electric guitar riff, akin to the opening of Sillypenta's Warshaw, or something like this (except I obviously don't want to use the latter as it's already been used in Kill Bill, and I don't want to seem like I'm ripping off that particular movie, especially since my own brickfilm involves several assassins*). Has anyone got any suggestions?
*(For the record, I haven't actually watched Kill Bill, in case anyone is wondering.)
