congrats on the win!
Wow, this is beautiful. It reminds me of Wall-E. Congrats on First Prize!
I think the story, visuals, music, and sounds all fit together to create a haunting sense of tone. There are some especially creative touches with the camera-work here that you don't see in a lot of brickfilms -- for instance, the dolly shot at 1:29 from the robot's perspective. Good use of depth fields as a general rule to give all these moving-camera shots some dimensionality.
The sound effects are good as well! They sound a bit like R2D2 in their analog feel but not that close.
I enjoyed this film a great deal. Watching the behind the scenes after the judging was delightful. The amount of effort put into the sound design shows in the final project. I'm a bit jealous of all those analog synths you have there. The feel of the film was impressive especially creating emotion for a character in a film this short let alone for a robot.
reminds me of Wall-E only made of bricks and almost better:DD
Was Wall-E in mind when you made this?
