Topic: STAR WARS EP 7 Test

I am working on a trailer for Star Wars Ep 7 and this is one of the clips i finished so far.

It's my first time editing in Lightworks but it does have some cool effects and works much better than WMM.
Just getting used to it is taking some time though.
Also used LSM for the lightsaber effect.

Would appreciate some input and advice. Thanks! mini/bigsmile

Re: STAR WARS EP 7 Test

Hey AJVfilms,

Not bad, short but still nice on its own terms.

Now firstly, I can understand why your using lightworks (Being a free program an all) which in retrospect is a lot better than WMM but its a lot more technical as well.  But good luck on it!

As for feedback wise, I'd deffs recommend you getting your scene darker, theres too much light to make the illusion that there is darkness in the scene, or that it is a night shot. You're one looks more like a daytime shot than night.

Also there was a delay in the beginning, and the music began without the movement or visual of the sith. I don't know if this was your intention or not, otherwise it was just out of sync possibly redoing the music, or perhaps starting the music from when he walks however this could just be personal preference in that case ignore this part.

Otherwise overall good job!

Sincerely,
Divine.

Re: STAR WARS EP 7 Test

Hi Divine, Thanks for the feedback!
Yeah LW is very technical compared to WMM but I am trying to get used to it.
Though I have ran into few problems since the free version is kinda limited and doesn't import sound from videos very well. Idk
But that's off topic.
Anyway after looking at the scene from the movie and my own a few times I can see what you mean. I think I'll re shoot it a night maybe with minimal light as possible. Though I'm not sure how good the quality will be since I'm still using a logitech 9000 webcam.

I was trying to mimic how it was black before he appeared and then it went black afterwards, but I think I'll make it longer in my next reshoot.
