I wouldn't doubt it if the trailer aired during the football game tonight. And that's American football for all you non-American heathens.
I'm so excited for the trailer. This teaser alone is a cinematic event unlike any 'highly anticipated trailer' event that we have seen, or will see again. Age of Ultron was exciting, but we have many preconceptions about the story. With The Force Awakens, we know nothing. There are vague whispers, not even rumours.
With JJ Abrams in charge I'm sure it will live up to the hype, but the pessimist in me says it could all still go wrong.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My mind had officially been blown!!!!!!!!!
That lightsaber.
That lightsaber.
My initial reaction to that was "HOLY CRAP THAT IS AMAZING" but in reality, I'm kinda skeptical now. I really hope it has a purpose or practicality other than looking cool.
Yes.
I will go see this in 2015. And I would be more than happy to wait three more years afterward for Episode 8.
I AM SO HYPED RIGHT NOW IM NOT EVEN GOING TO BOTHER TURNING CAPS LOCK OFF OR DOING PUNCTUATION
I STARTED CHOKING UP WHEN THE X WINGS APPEARED AND THEN THE FALCON OH MY GODS
Nice! My faith in Abrams has been restored!
It was okay. I hope the new villain watches his fingers around that lightsaber guard, though.
I felt this wonderful warm feeling in my heart when I heard the title music play. This looks great. Also, the X-Wings and the Falcon are back!
It's slightly disappointing that they seem to be focusing on Tatooine yet again, though. I mean, it's basically the planet equivalent of a hick-town in the middle of nowhere; it's had plenty of screen-time throughout the Saga already and I'd rather see some new locations. Though, there's the snowy forest where the Sith appeared, and the part where the X-Wings were flying looked new, so I'm excited to see that.
Also interesting to note we see a Stormtrooper without a helmet for the first time. It suggests that we might even get to see a main character who is an average soldier, rather than the Stormtroopers being a bunch of faceless goons to be easily disposed of. It could mean we'll get a more morally ambiguous picture than the previous, more basic "good/evil" plot. There's certainly potential, given the Force is more about balance between the Light and Dark Side than being strictly on the side of good/evil. Still, there's almost no indication of who the characters and what their roles are, and what the film is actually going to be about...
In short, I'm excited! I'm certainly interested in seeing it.
What's up with that Droid, though?

I think the little lightsaber bits on the side are meant to be handguards, like a medieval broadsword. Which actually makes sense, considering someone could destroy a lightsaber by parrying then sliding the blade down until it hits the handle (or hand of the opponent). It's still more practical than Darth Maul's two-bladed thingamajig. Also, if this is anything to go by, I have a feeling that this new Sith might stylistically resemble a medieval knight (just as the design of Darth Vader was inspired by a Samurai). I'm certainly curious to see.
I saw the lightsaber and honestly I was mad. I saw a comment on the trailer saying something like it was a Sith who made his own saber without the proper knowledge or tools, hence it being a little broken. I'm hoping that's true, because the lightsaber is something that does not need to be changed.
Looks very promising, can't wait for it.
That bloke in trooper gear could not have been one of the clone troopers since they're all based off of Jango fett, and he obviously doesn't look like Jango Fett. He could perhaps have been wearing it as a disguise much like Luke and Han did in the original Star Wars, or perhaps he's a republic trooper and not a clone. In some Old Republic stuff there are many rupublic troopers who look similar to clones in style, but instead of being clones they're just people in a military.
I'm going to throw a guess that they decided to stop making more clones and let normal people enlist as soldiers.
Of course, I can only guess.
That new saber looks a little strange, but it is actually practical, so I'm cool with it.
I just hope not too much of the film is in the desert, but I'm okay with some of it. Some times though teasers only show mostly material from the first part of the film, so it might just be that it starts there and moves on.
Thus far, every Star Wars film has had at least something take place there with one exception being Empire Strikes Back.
The lightsaber would make sense if the side parts just came straight out of the handle rather than having two extra bits jutting out. The reason they are there is to mirror swords with hilts to stop clashed swords sliding down and slicing off the hands of a wielder, but considering there are non-lightsaber bits on the side they could easily be cut off.
