Topic: August 2014 Test

I made this short test, and as you can probably see it was pretty rushed.  I mainly tried to focus on animation, not taking much care for the lighting setup (and stuff), and you can see light flicker throughout the video.

EDIT: Oh and I kinda stole Twickabrick's AND END Films's button animation, although mine is way inferior.  So credits to him.

It doesn't really look all that bad, but I'm not really sure what you were focusing on. You might want to read up a little bit on "anticipation" and "spacing" and do some tests focusing on those.

One thing in particular I think could be improved is finding a new way to have the minifig turn (around 18-19s) that looks more natural. One thing you might try is having him lean in the opposite direction he is going before taking a step (anticipation).

It's not stealing. I used the same technique in my BRAWL film (mine also involved teleportation, interesting coincidence isn't it?).

You shouldn't be afraid of stealing, this is a quote from one of my favorite artists, Jim Jarmusch:

Nothing is original. Steal from anywhere that resonates with inspiration or fuels your imagination. Copying techniques are not stealing them. It just shows you like the technique the other filmer has done.
