Topic: An Altered Development (BRAWL 2014)

This is my BRAWL film. I would really like to thank the following members for voice acting:
Edmeier Animation: Jerry the Forestman
Pritichard Studios: Todd the Doctor
Jay Smith: Space suit guy (Jim maybe?)

I would also like to thank my older bro for voice acting for Forgon the Blacksmith.

Oops. I forgot to add a description. This is Set in the middle ages and involves a time machine.

Also I would greatly like to thank Fun Sucker for letting me enter a few minutes late when my video glitched on youtube. His kindness and genorosity shall be remembered forever!

Also another note. I literally finished this in the last minute. That is intense

Re: An Altered Development (BRAWL 2014)

It's a nice concept, using

time travel to change the development of a society.

but sadly the film didn't focus on that like it could have. The film feels very split, there's the intro with the mushroom contest, but the majority of the film deals with something else. Admittingly a much better concept, but the start took away from that. If you had concentrated on the latter concept, and spend more runtime exploring the consequences of the actions, the film would have been better.

The sets were basic, or just Lego sets placed in-frame. But the animation, (with a few exceptions) is good and smooth. If you had more time to build better sets, this film would have been quiet a bit better.

So basically, you had a nice concept, and the animation that could have made it look good, but a few factors caused this to fall below it's full potential.

Re: An Altered Development (BRAWL 2014)

Thanks for the advice. I really was rushing through the whole thing. I planned to do all the animating from Wednesday to Saturday, but I had to go to the local MLS team's match with my bro on Wednesday, I didn't animate at all in the morning that day. On Thursday, I was desperately trying to fix a light flicker problem, in the evening I fixed it and shot the first shot. On Friday I animated the whole day (except when my camera was charging), but on Saturday I had a piano recital, so my animating time was cut. Even with rushing through the animating part on Saturday, I finished only one minute before the deadline. So basically I procastinated through this whole contest.

Re: An Altered Development (BRAWL 2014)

It's a fun idea, but a lot of the conversations kind of dragged on mercilessly. And, I won't lie, but I kept wondering when there would be a cut to a different scene. mini/lol But, I must congratulate you on making it all the way through your first BRAWL.

Have you seen a big-chinned boy?
