Topic: Filter Test and Wide Screen Test

The filter makes the colour look nice, and complements the lighting nicely IMO. I like trying to make Brickfilms less LEGO like, and more life like. I think the filter helps.

The wide screen because everything looks more cinematic brilliant in wide screen.

Unfortunately there are so many things wrong with this shot that I'm going to have to re shoot it.

Re: Filter Test and Wide Screen Test

Let me guess.  Wheels rolling across studs.

Nice filter.  Nice animation too.  Doesvthat filter have a name/type/tint/colour?

Re: Filter Test and Wide Screen Test

Nope. Wheels rolling across perfectly flat ground actually.

Also the crop that I chose means that the picture on the back wall is cut off.

This is a download for the filter (actually a preset) that I used: http://cineblur.com/instagram/.
I used Brannan.

Re: Filter Test and Wide Screen Test

This looks great! My only qualm is that the camera movement is a little bit juddery, but it doesn't detract from the scene you've created here. The atmosphere that the filter creates looks really nice.

If you're going to reshoot, maybe bear what I said about the camera movement in mind but I also think you could put something on the floor at the back of the set. The space on the back wall is a bit bare - maybe add a stool? It's not a problem though, just a minor improvement if you were looking to make one.

Re: Filter Test and Wide Screen Test

The lighting and the filter make it look really nice, and the set's quite good also, but I think you should try hard to not only smooth out the camera movement, but slow it down to make the shot longer as well. It's hard to enjoy the nice lighting when it goes by so fast. This seems like an establishing shot, and I think it needs to be longer so that the audience can really get a sense of the space.

Re: Filter Test and Wide Screen Test

I have tried and tried to make the shot as slow as possible, but it is being a real pain. I'm seriously thinking of adding zoom in post to make it really slow.
