Having recently totally sold out, I felt the need for catharsis. So I set up my lamps and played around with them to see what sort of effects I could get.

I would love it if you made something on your own again. I really like some of the effects you've gotten here, most notably the two with Emmet and the second to last one. Those feel like the best candidates to be used in a film. I really like the almost cartoony nature of the third to last image. ![]()
That lighting looks great. Especially images 2, 5, 9, and 11.

Yeah, that would be awesome! Like a fourth episode of Sam and Stinky, perhaps?

These are really nice! I would love to see them used in a film. My favourites are the third and fifth image.
These images have a very pleasing aesthetic feel, solid job, Hazzat.
Just out of curiosity, are you using a mini dv camcorder?

Yep, how can you tell? I've been using it since day 1 of making films, and never really got around to upgrading. (I tried a DSLR once, but it was too complicated and I got scared.)
Thank you for the feedback everyone. I'd really love to use these in a film at some point, let's see if it happens. ![]()
I took a few more, this time playing with windows and reflections:

The second one is awesomest.

I think you should upgrade sometime. If not a really spectacular camera, just a better webcam at least. Your talent is deserving of better image quality.
I'd also suggest switching your bulbs to something with a more neutral hue. They're far to warm.

I remember reading your frequently asked questions on your youtube channel a few years back; where it stated your camera, software, etc. Also, the way the light reflects off the minifigure is a good indicator, at least for me.
It's great that your still using a mini dv camera, it adds a rather unique look to your films. I suppose choosing a camera is all about the animator's preference. What ever camera or equipment suits one's needs, that is, ultimately, the best choice.
I'm not a fan of the weird double reflection thing that's going on; if you could find a way to prevent that I think it would improve the look a lot. The second one looks great though. Also, those windows are really dirty. ![]()
