Where I am, everywhere has them. Entertainer, the local toy shops, and even Tesco and WHSmiths have an almost complete range.

Seems very odd, that local toy shops don't have them. Argos have them, but only in limited quantities.

Re: Official LEGO Movie

Don't know if you guys are interested, but I made a video of how the LEGO public reacted to the film. Just a bit of fun. Watch for the penguin.

Re: Official LEGO Movie

I'm in the US, but I guess it's still relevant that when I went to my local LEGO store to get some of the LEGO Movie sets they were sold out of everything but the brand new Metal Beard ship and all of the Creation thingies. I ended up ordering them online from the store, which is the same as ordering off of LEGO.com but you get free shipping.

I would've gone to another store to look for them, but I feel like waiting a couple days to get them is worth more than having to pay more.

Re: Official LEGO Movie

I just saw it again and I need to correct myself real fast. There are actually 9 fan made animations in the film not 5. On of the ones I didn't mention was the one by Paganomation. I haven't been able to figure out who made the other ones. I also noticed a thing at the end of the credits clarifying that they have the right to use the work of others (or something like that) which they used in the film. I got a legal notice in the credits, sure makes me feel appreciated. mini/tongue

On the topic of the stop motion in the film, the above mentioned

Spoiler (click to read)

part where the Millennium Falcon gets eaten by the worm

really looks like stop motion, but I don't think the other mini scale stuff is, the lighting and movement didn't seem right. Another thing I noticed is that in some really close shots, like the second close up of Wyldstyle in her reveal scene, they animated in pieces of dust for one or two frames, something we are all familiar with as a common problem in brickfilms, I thought that was really cool.

Re: Official LEGO Movie

I was going to mention, and it looks like backyardlegos has, too, that I think most of the mini-scale shots are stop-motion. Such as

When the Batmobile arrives on the cloud, or the shots where the Sea Cow arrives at/leaves Lord Business' tower.

Attention Californians: the set from the movie is currently on display at LEGOLAND, CA. Get yourselves down there!

Really? I was just there last summer, and seeing as I can't drive through the two other states that lie between me and Carlsbad, I guess I'll just have to miss it.

Re: Official LEGO Movie

Omigosh guys LEGO Movie 2 confirmed for May 26, 2017.

http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=115163

It could be good, and I'm glad they're taking their time, but that doesn't stop me worrying that it could all go horribly wrong.

EDIT: Apparently, we have to wait until August for home release. I haz a sad mini/sad

3 straight weeks at No. 1 for "The LEGO Movie."

At this pace it could reach $350M before the end of its run.

I'm without words. That looks like a tonnafun. And, unless I'm mistaken, I think that's the same kid from the film.

So that's like 30-40 minutes from where I live. I should probably go.
