Re: Official LEGO Movie

I like the Lonely Island "Everything is Awesome" version.

Not to mention Lonely Island is only one of the best group of musicians.

A Life? Cool! Where can I download one of those from?

Re: Official LEGO Movie

Some of their songs...wow. Incredible. The guys are lyrical geniuses. Did you ever see Hot Rod (the movie they did)? It had Will Arnett (Batman) in it too...such a great film. I nearly died laughing.

I wish I could afford the airfares to fly to a country it's released in and see it right now. Unfortunately I'll be waiting another six and a half weeks.

Here in Italy it's going to be released in 2 days... and I'm not going to see it because the dubbing it's unbearable.
Also, I see some of you stayed in the theater untill the end of the credits... I do that for every movie I enjoy, actually.

Re: Official LEGO Movie

I'm yet to see this film mini/sad but I've created a page for it on the brickfilming wiki. I'd welcome some contributions since it's looking abit bare!

Re: Official LEGO Movie

Why is the LEGO Movie not being released in Australia for two months but other countries are already getting it in languages other than English?  You'd think Australia would be one of the first, seeing as it was animated there.

That's actually what I keep saying. Why snub Austrailia like that? Aussies are really cool people!

Have you seen a big-chinned boy?

Re: Official LEGO Movie

After a little bit (and only a little) more research, it seems like there isn't any stop motion in the movie other than the rebrick entries and the credits. Not to sound skeptical/self interested, but I think the directors may have said the thing about stop motion being used, which is technically true, to appease the already existing brickfilm fan base before a lot of actual animation from the film had been seen. Let's be honest, we were all skeptical when we heard it was in CG, and hearing that stop motion would be integrated made us feel a little bit better.

Re: Official LEGO Movie

What if some of it really was stop-motion. And they just made it look that good.

the lego movie is a conspiracy

the lego movie is a conspiracy

What if the whole film was just a bunch of actors with lots of plastic surgery, pretending to be animated in a way that makes it look like stop motion.

the lego movie is a double conspiracy

What about the part where:

Spoiler (click to read)

The Millennium Falcon gets swallowed by the space-worm thing?

Was that stop motion? I thought it was, but nobody ever mentioned it when discussing this so I now have my doubts.

I think so.
All of the miniatures I think were stop-motion.

Re: Official LEGO Movie

Really, why does it matter? It looked freaking sweet, no matter how it was done.

What if the conspiracy is that Nathan Wells has been animating this film for years and has been away from the forums because of that? mini/tongue

That's the fun of it though! When something is amazing, you want to find out how it was achieved.

What if the conspiracy theory is that there is no conspiracy. It was a conspiracy that there was a conspiracy created by Chis.W to make us think that Nathan Wells was behind a conspiracy that never existed. He was framed for a crime never committed.

Uhhh..... what did I just do? mini/confused

no more brickfilming *sad face*.

Re: Official LEGO Movie

Dang! You caught me.

Now, hard mode: find my sigfig cameo in The LEGO Movie. Bonus points if you can find the Stoic Man.

Or what if we all worked on the lego movie but didn't want anybody to know?

I forgot about the miniscale stuff. I'll pay extra attention to those the next time I see it.

Re: Official LEGO Movie

I saw the movie on Valentine's Day and I must say that I was genuinely surprised (in a good way). It was a lot better than I was expecting it to be (most of the underwhelming franchise-based movies in the past few years have left me skeptical) and I can safely say that it's one of the best movies that I have seen in theaters (short of the Hobbit movies) in a long time. It's laugh-a-minute nature kept my attention for the whole time.

I'm personally not too bothered by the fact that it's not stop-motion. It would have been an added bonus, but the CGI animation at least mostly simulated stop-motion.

I'll definitely be buying the movie once it comes out on DVD.

Re: Official LEGO Movie

I don't know if this is the most relevant place to say this, but ah well. Does anyone in the UK not have any of The Lego Movie sets in their toy stores? Particularly the stores of Toys R Us and Toymaster. I visited one of the shops, and they had a large cutout of Emmet, saying coming soon in March/April! A bit odd, not having any merchandise available with such a large hit of a movie.

Re: Official LEGO Movie

Where I am, everywhere has them. Entertainer, the local toy shops, and even Tesco and WHSmiths have an almost complete range.
