I FINALLY GOT THEM ALL OUT!!!
I used a torso to more pry it from the helmet rather than pull it after having soaked it in water for several hours, and that worked pretty well. The helmets and heads are all intact.

If you have an excess of helmets (like most people do) you can just break the helmet. I hate to break any LEGO piece, but if the heads are that valuable to you, you might consider it.
