Re: What was the last movie you watched?
So here's my opinion of The Secret Life of Walter Mitty: absolutely amazing.
Here's my explanation. The cinematography is gorgeous; DPs around the world are drooling as they watch it; almost every shot of the film could be taken as a still and be a beautiful photograph. Normally this would be considered excessive, but in this case, it doesn't distract from the story, and it works very well with the story being told, both in mood and the main plot device. No, the writing isn't perfect, there a few glitches here and there, but the story arch is wonderful, the pace felt just right. There are some good funny moments too. It was really refreshing to watch a movie which simply told a meaningful story without flashbacks or an overload of effects (although there are some, but used in a limited capacity) of an endearing character who you really want to succeed, but you aren't sure that he will. And it's beautiful to boot. ![]()
