Re: Official LEGO Movie
Well I understand what you are saying, nevertheless I don't like the way the animation looks. That's my opinion that ill stick by.

Maybe, Aardman could have stepped in and did the stop-motion. If they were gonna do stop-motion, that is. I mean, Aardman's had more experience with stop-motion animation.
Aardman currently has three feature films in production or pre-production so I doubt they'd be willing to take on another project; they also have they're signature look to they're characters, I'm not sure they'd be willing to break out of that to make a LEGO film anyways.
Have to agree that some of the jokes seem a bit cheesy, but it's of course targeted for children, and the animation style is wonderful; it seriously looks like a brickfilm at times. The cast is excellent, and it'd be great if they had Charlie McDonnell in it as well, especially after the Tea Chronicles.

I really, really like that the GCI looks like stop motion. My hopes for this film have gone way up.
I especially like how the blaster bolts are transparent pieces that have been illuminated.
Holy McFloppel
I had relatively low expectations for this film when it was announced. I wasn't necessarily thrilled with the decision to make it a CGI film, but I thought I would wait and see.
Now, I'm actually legitimately pumped for this film. I love the animation style which, as you can plainly see, took a lot of care into making the minifigs look and move like minifigs. I also like the subtle details, like how the spaceman has a cracked helmet, and the LEGO cat that was hidden during the sequence when the LEGO is building itself.
I'm looking forward to seeing this next year. It looks to be pretty good.

It was inevitable.
These figures are the most accurate to their movie characters than ever before in LEGO history.
I like it that it seems much more like LEGO is marketing sets based off of the movie rather than making a movie to launch specific toys.
Unlike Clutch Powers.
I saw the trailer in theaters recently and you know those little seems on the minifig arms where the two pieces of plastic are fused together? Those are modeled into the textures. Everything looks so much like LEGO bricks, it's amazing; they went all out making sure it looks as much like it's made out of actual LEGO bricks as possible; I'm officially impressed now.

Eh, it's far from inevitable to me. To my knowledge this is the first time LEGO's done something like this, despite having had similar opportunities before.
If that picture is anything to go by, I'm actually quite excited for this theme. It looks like it's going to have a lot of interesting new bricks. I think it's going to be a lot better than many of LEGO's most recent themes (*glares at Castle, Chima, and TMNT*). I still don't like Emmet's facial expression, though.
I wish they'd done something like this for LEGO Universe...

Yup, me too. I watched it online, and I have to say, it looks good. Can't wait to see the film, who knows, maybe I will learn a few things to do with my movies. At any rate, looking forward to this very much.
This is really getting awesome...(but what the heck is up with his hair!?)
I have to say, I know a lot of people liked this but the only thing I like about it is the music...

what
I'm sorry...
It's "Feel This Moment" by Pitbull, by the way. All it is is the remixed beat of "Take On Me" put to Pitbulls typical "Look how cultured I am" lyrics.
Now back to the discussion at hand. I expected they would do sets for the movie, otherwise I would have been completely shocked. I'm actually looking forward to them a lot. They look nicely designed, and I expect some cool new pieces.
It was also mentioned that there will be 16 new and "new again" minifigs for the line. I'm assuming this means we may see old minifigs like the classic astronaut make an appearance in the line, which if true, makes me REALLY excited.
I really want that hair as an actual minifig piece, and since it's on the poster, I can only assume it's the hair they will use in the sets.

I was so going to see this in theaters. Such a great cast!
But then I realized, that since I live in Denmark... it will be dubbed in danish. I am so tired of hearing the same 10 danish actors in all cartoons, all the time.
But since it's a cartoon, cinemas automatically assume only kids are interested, and they don't like subtitles.
Guess I'll have to wait for the DVD/BluRay to hear Morgan Freeman and Liam Neeson's wonderful voices. And I'll probably still see it in theaters. Got a feeling this might be one of the few films worth watching i 3D
Okay, if the final film is anything like this, it's going to be gut-bustingly hilarious.
