Isn't that in the vein of what Holding Our Own said?

Not even close.

I might be going to see it sometime with a couple friends, but most likely I'll wait until it's out on DVD to watch it (which shouldn't be long, judging by how long LEGO has waited before to release media on DVD).

Except this is a theatrical movie release, as opposed to a direct-to-dvd film or a TV special. It'll probably take about as long to come to DVD as any other film, so maybe 3 or so months.

I'm so pumped to see this! I mean, I always was after the first trailer, but having the reviews confirm that it's a good film makes me more excited. I should be seeing this on the 9th, so I'll tell you how a I think then.

Isn't that the joke?

You would be correct

movies are not real life, and they have tendecies to perpetrate myths. It's (Movie) designed to not just perpetrate this myth, but to preach it and convince people it's true. It (The LEGO Movie) figures that it's another evil "OIL" tycoon message geared to children.

A Life? Cool! Where can I download one of those from?

Re: Official LEGO Movie

Aside from its harmful socialist values and unbalanced political/anti-corporate propaganda, I'm looking forward to this movie a great deal. It's a poo that Australia gets it a mere 2 months later, though. I guess Lego didn't want to break its long running trend of shafting Australia in every way possible.

Re: Official LEGO Movie

I was looking on rottentomatoes the score by the critics, and at the moment there are no negative reviews.

There are only about 30 reviews, but it looks promising.

But I think I won't be watching it at the cinema, because what I've heard of the italian dubbing in the trailers was absolutely... atrocious.

This is what I found underneath the current Tomatometer score.

Re: Official LEGO Movie

I must confess I was initially feeling rather cynical about this film after hearing it being announced.  While the animation in the trailers looked great, the jokes/storyline seemed rather a bit childish.  However, having seen some of the clip scenes and hearing all these great reviews, I'm now extremely excited to see this and have high hopes for this.  I'm not sure I'll be watching it in the cinema, but I'm hoping I'll get the chance to.

Re: Official LEGO Movie

I am currently sitting in line for the early 8PM showing.

At my LOCAL IMAX, we have 8PM and 12PM showings of movies that come out the next day.

The fact that its a kids movie doesn't mean the plot has to be droll and by-the-numbers. I can say that I was originally planning not to see the film for similar reasons. But, I'm willing to overlook that and watch "CHILDHOOD: THE MOTION PICTURE".

Have you seen a big-chinned boy?
