Topic: Why is STAR WARS different?

Why are STAR WARS different from other fantasy stories? Is it the special FX? Is it the story? Comment below to give your answer.

Re: Why is STAR WARS different?

i think it was very interesting how they casted the entire film with puppets and had them perform their own broadway play. very interesting. i think that it was very brave move to do that in a sci-fi film

Re: Why is STAR WARS different?

It was a well written story. The CGI and FX at the time dazzled people. It was just brilliant. Of course can't even say the same about the prequels without laughing. But the original trilogy is a prime example of a sci fi adventure done right.

Re: Why is STAR WARS different?

The story was a fantasy story that was simple, with good music and FX. The story was sortof cliche, but it did in a fresh and cool way.

What?

Re: Why is STAR WARS different?

Yoda was a puppet controlled by Frank Oz in the original films and Phantom Menace.

And I'm sure there were other puppets too, like R2-D2 is kind of a puppet.

Re: Why is STAR WARS different?

Well, I know that. It wasn't cast entirely out of puppets, and it didn't turn into a musical. I know there is supposed to be comedy behind that.

uh oh!

Re: Why is STAR WARS different?

I also remember seeing that movie Just Kidden is talking about and it was defenitly called Star Wars, it had Gandalf in it

Re: Why is STAR WARS different?

ye i remember in one movie the tempura strickes back gandalf was a pupet at one point

Re: Why is STAR WARS different?

Yeah, they're all puppets. And then they turn to humans. Now, they have to go on an epic journey to the other side of the world so they can become puppets again.

In all seriousness, I never really thought Star Wars was all that. I liked to watch the movies sometimes, but the prequels kind of ruined it for me.

Have you seen a big-chinned boy?

Ok, I'd seriously like to know what about the prequels is so bad besides the acting. I like them much better than movies nowadays. In fact, Episode III is one of my favorite movies.

Ummm... I've seen that already. And plus, I don't care what that idiot thinks. I stopped watching it about 5 minutes in because I just couldn't stand it.

Yep.

Re: Why is STAR WARS different?

Star Wars was the first movie I saw in the theatre.  Imagine no movie like it existed.  This was before the entire generation of such movies existed.  It is the depth of the world, I think.  People wanted to know more about the characters and their world because it was so well-developed.  Everyone who watched it imagined themselves immersed in the world.  Hard to explain, but this may be part of it.

I don't care about RedLetterMedia, I'd like to know what you guys think. All I've ever heard from people is that the Star Wars Prequels sucked. Nuff said.

WHY??????????????? (besides the acting)
