For once I really want to work on a film, but I can't because I have no time and my main voice actor is off at some con.

Double post whoa someone call the cops
So I started animating today and stuff I guess. Here's a frame with some cropping and colour correction that I'll most likely use in the final edit.
Well, I just don't know about it.
Quite a bit of stuff is out of focus, and I'm not keen on the white armed suit. I think you're going for the "Shirt and vest" type look, but that may not be the best way of doing that. The lights are nice, but the red doorknob sure stands out.
If there's a hidden reason for that, then fine, but if not, go black. There doesn't seem to be anything on the other side of the door, so you may want to throw up a quick wall or something to avoid that dark nothing-ness.
The focus is more down to the 9000 not having a very wide range of focus. Also there actually is a wall ont he other side of that door, it's just not very visible in this shot.

I know what you mean, same webcam that we used for a couple years, very hard to get precisely what you want with one of those.
The set for the first scene in my entry. I'm happy with the building on the left. I'm still gonna do some slight touch-up work on the tan building and decorate it some more. Maybe some windows will work, I dunno.
Ooh, I really like that, appreciate the smooth, clean look of it.
Nice set and nice clean picture too. The only thing (and very minor thin) is that the sidewalk is the same level as the road, if you raised everything one plate higher than the road it would look great.

Whoooaaa maaan. That quality is beautiful. I love the framing and the fact that no one is looking at the clown.

I love the depth of focus that you chose, really makes the clown look alone and ignored.

Set, focus and composition are pretty good. Is that the final lighting? It looks very overexposed to me.
Also, dust off your figures!

Thanks for the welcome back! I've begun work on a brickfilm that fits the theme of the contest, though I'm unsure if I will have enough time to enter. I'll still finish the film either way, of course.
That's kind of how I'm feeling too, not entirely sure I'll be able to finish, or just take so much lego with me on holiday. But I'm still going to finish it, definitely.
Good to know that there is some competition out there! Should make for a good contest.

As with jstudios, I sure hope this means that you're planning on entering, Glad to see you are entering, and really hope that you'll be getting active again on the boards. But even if not, it's good to see that you're alive.
In other news, I've nearly reached the half-way point on animation. Yippee!
At this rate, everything (Including editing/sound) will be done by the end of the month, leaving plenty of time for a potential composer to work his magic.

Yeah, I'm still alive. Barely, but still here. I've somewhat fallen behind on animation though as I've wasted a few days through organising voice actors and such, but I've only got one more to do so I'll try to animate as quickly as possible.
I've adjusted it a tad so it's not as exposed as before, along with the fact that the figures don't have as much dust.
I guess I could have the scenes with the sad clown slightly less exposed to have some symbolism in there as well.
