Re: YouTube

I only changed to that hideous One Channel because I had no other option. The YouTube People were cracking down on everyone.

They did things to me. Horrifying things.
They took me places. Horrifying places. mini/eek
I had no choice. I wasn't strong enough to withstand their power.

In other news, the What to Watch Next tab really sucks. Instead of taking me right to the Subscriptions (to see the new uploads of the beautiful[ly talented mini/tongue ] people that I subscribed to), it shows me some advertisements and other videos made by people I'm not subscribed to. It's really great, guys. Best thing ever, this new YouTube!![/anger/sarcasm]

Re: YouTube

I also like the new channel design but how often they change is annoying.

Re: YouTube

OK, this may have been discussed somewhere before within this thread, but...what are the point of Contacts? I'm just accepting everyone who is kind enough to ask (like a fat kid at the school prom). Should I do this? Will it make any difference if I ignore everyone or accept everyone?

Also, YouTube are forcing me to change my channel design...AGAIN. They change their appearance more than Lady Gaga! At least Facebook and Twitter wait a few years...

Re: YouTube

I don't think there is anything useful about adding people to contacts. (At least I don't it useful) I think it's just a feature that youtube never really took anywhere.

I've been having a problems with Youtube's new channel layout though. A while ago I assumed defeat about them Making people change to the newest design. I switched and right away it bugged out. I don't think I've been able to load my channel since I switched. So I'm just going to create a new account. What should I call it? I'd like to keep Legocloniac477 or Studio 477. So I'm thinking that I might just use Studio 477 as a name. Can you guys help me come up with a new name? Is Studio 477 a good name? I appreciate the help.

Re: YouTube

Guys, is it possible to upload a youtube video using a song from iTunes, or will it be taken down because of copyright?

Re: YouTube

It might not be taken down immediately, but your going to be shamed by YouTube nonetheless. My advice is only use this copyrighted song if its absolutely necessary.

Re: YouTube

@MrMingleProductions It depends on the song. As I understand it YouTube has deals with some record labels to allow videos with their songs to stay up but with ads where the revenue goes to the label. Some artists though (in particular independent ones) encourage you to use their music as a form of promotion. If you do use the copyrighted stuff it is also a good idea to credit it in the description and video itself.

Re: YouTube

Has anyone found Youtube to keep going "The webpage is not available" whenever you search it? It keep happening to me every night, while it seems to work at other times. mini/confused

You can do anything, just have fun while doing it.

Re: YouTube

I haven't experienced this, so I assume it's probably connection problems...also, I have a question, how many subs do you need on youtube to be able to apply for a partnership?

Not me, D.J.M., but I believe you.

You can change the pitch and tempo/speed of the song in audacity and the evil computer which is searching for copyrighted music will be tricked into thinking it's not a copyrighted song at all. This is not legal, but it does work. Few of my friends are actually monetizing their stop-motion videos using copyrighted music and they've been doing so for a few years now with no problems whatsoever.

Re: YouTube

I've done processing tricks, and Youtube identified a song anyway.

On a happier not than copyright laws, I finally had a video make it to 1,000 views. mini/smile

Re: YouTube

Really?! I thought you would have made it way past that by now. I love your videos. Congratulations!

Re: YouTube

Thanks. mini/smile There is this one video on my friends channel that we made with LEGO, but just moving minifigs in front of a video camera, no actual animation, that's managed to get to 720,000 views; it's really bad, and remains one of the greatest mysteries I've ever encountered. Here's the link if you don't believe me that it's terrible: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w0CFoAiLBXk. But yah, my animations don't get much attention, might have something to do with the lack of effort I've but into the whole metadata and exposure thing.

Re: YouTube

Oh, all of my crappiest animations are my most popular ones. Its just how YouTube works...

I have now been forced to update my channel, like a pushy parent forcing me to do ballet. Its strange that YouTube are actually removing customisation options the more they update it. I don't mind that autoplay only works for people not subscribed to you - and I actually really like how you can add an intro to some videos.

What I hate is now every single channel looks the same. They're calling it the 'One Channel' because you can only have ONE design. My hub from which I direct everyone to my various creative outlets looks blander than a Facebook profile - which I find somewhat insulting considering that I'm an artist, as is everyone else on this website. We are content creators, not people who upload videos of their cats. Its difficult enough to stand out on YouTube without them making you look like every other idiot with a camera.

YouTube is like the gaming industry in how they only update for the sake of updating.
