Re: Trailer - Galactic Recon Trailer

Hmm...It looks interesting, but the execution may let it down a bit.

I like your new logo, but if would be better if the lens flare moved a bit, and the lines were a tad bit cleaner.

Things don't get off to a good start, as the opening shot is of a poorly done green-screen and the news reporter shot pans too quickly. But things (And the quality) pick up later on.

After the first title (In the year...) there's a great quality jump and that shot is the first one to really impress me. Problem is, things slide back down after that. The animation itself is a bit choppy still, and the all CGI scenes just don't mesh with the all physical scenes. The sets aren't that interesting, and while you have some darker scenes, I didn't see any other dramatic lighting.

Also, the talking sequences were just what I don't care for. Low-tech mouth animation, and no arm movements to match. Generally, people prefer the arm and body motions over any mouth movements, and even if you do want the latter, it's best to mix the two for more realism.

The concept is cool, so I'm hoping the final film comes off better than my overall impression of the trailer.
And speaking of that, I still need to get you those lines right?

Thanks for the honest opinion mini/smile I think i'm going to re doe all the green screen shots in after effects once I get it, and there are lots of arm and head movements in the film, not many of them made it into the trailer (the  "so you want me to lead a team to another galaxy, on a state of the art starship" actually has a arm movement but the shot of the spaceship covered it)

Anyway, thanks for the opinion mini/smile and yeah, when you get the time to record the lines it would be appreciated, mini/smile I am still editing together the first half of the movie so I don't need the lines yet but I probably will in a few weeks, lol
