Re: How to Post Your Film

I don't think it's possible to do that. If I were you, I'd just space out the release between the episodes. Like this: Make one episode, release it. Make something that isn't part of the series, release that. Make another episode, release it, and so on.

Not literally dead, just no longer interested in Lego or animation.

Re: How to Post Your Film

But I'd like to have them all in the same topic, like KG's Academy Awards thing. I think I'll just figure it out somehow. mini/blankexpression

Edit the topic.

I did it. It's not the perfect system though.

okay, okay. gosh.

Heh heh. It takes awhile. mobdeli's "Egyptian Holiday" was posted late April and is still not approved, it's still in the forums. mini/blankexpression

Re: How to Post Your Film

It will always be in the forums. It may just take a while to appear within the Directory's pages.

Re: How to Post Your Film

Remember that real people review these things. Real people like you. Real people with friends, school, other hobbies(?), lives(....), and family issues. No wonder it takes a while. But at the end of it all, you get a review from a real person. Like you. A review is what a real, live, living, breathing person actually thinks of your Brickfilm. And that's the point of the Review panel.

That complaint was made in '09. But yeah, the directory system could be better. Much better.

Re: How to Post Your Film

I posted a film called "Karl's Korner, but every time I hit submit, the link I put in doesn't show up.

I haven't animated anything in over 3 months. I am sorry about that, but I have been working on my magnum opus: Ghost Cat: Port of Call New Orleans

Re: How to Post Your Film

Le Bump
I have a question about the ratings in the submission process.
So say that I have a film that is completely free of profanity, but I used a song in the film that contains the F-bomb as well as a drug reference. What should I rate this film in terms of language?
Here is the song in question. Normally I would not include a song that had bad words in it, but this song fit the plight of the character perfectly. mini/smile
Thanks!

Re: How to Post Your Film

If it's got an audible swear, then yes it requires a flag for language. I don't think the drug reference is enough to require one, though.

Re: How to Post Your Film

Okay, but what level would the f- word in the song warrant? The voice is kind of weird so you don't notice it unless you are paying attention to the song, but it's still pretty obvious.
Thanks for the response!

I'd say if it's only the f-word, maybe a moderate language warning?

Re: How to Post Your Film

Let me clarify the following: I am not a Christian, however this doesn't mean I'm trying to start a flame war. I just have a few honest questions about the site's policy.
So recently I've noticed a lot of films here quoting scriptures or being based on the Bible. That's fine, considering Christians make up the most part of the site's demographic. I am an atheist but I respect all beliefs (except for grossly immoral ones, like Nazis.) So I am fine with this content and it does not offend me. If it directly made fun of others beliefs I would be offended but of course nobody would make a film like that here.
Now I am considering scripting a brickfilm with atheist themes. Basically it's about this atheist guy who dies and then there's this philosophical diologue with God and he asserts his beliefs that God does not exist.
Question is, would this offend any of you? Usually I would not ask this because I am not making fun of any group whatsoever. But I decided to ask this first on this site because it seems as though a lot of you are religious and therefore I didn't really feel comfortable not asking you. Offense is inevitable given that Christianity is the biggest religion in the world but would this film fall under the rules of the site? Again not aiming to offend anyone but I'd like to know what you think.

Re: How to Post Your Film

Even though I've used Biblical references in my films before, I find it perfectly fine to make an atheist film.  I'm not exactly Christian as well...  As long as people review the film based on it's film aspects and not religious content then we should be okay I'm guessing..

Re: How to Post Your Film

Quote the Bible as you do any other book. Yes, it has strong religious ties, but, nothing bans Atheists (or anyone else, for that matter) from purchasing the Bible to read. Topitmunkeydog, if you'd even like to quote the Bible in your film, (as with what you've said about it, it may fit) then, I'm fine with that. If I don't like the film (especially if it offends me) I'll just not rate it, and never watch it again... It won't harm you, and yet, no one really "cares" in the end...

The only thing you should be worried about is if your video starts a "religious war" on the comments. Even then, on Youtube, you can just delete comments.

Re: How to Post Your Film

Go ahead.
This is a free (As in freedom) website, if I post something Christian, and somebody doesn't like it, they don't have to watch it, and don't even have to rate/comment on it. And the same principle goes both ways. Just because I may or may not agree with the subject matter, or may not agree with the ideas presented doesn't mean it should not be posted.

There is no reason that you cannot/should not make your film. This site is for expressing our ideals and passions, no matter which side of the religious or political debate they may be on. The only problem is that a flame war may try to start, but I think we're mature enough as a community to deal with that should it happen.

Re: How to Post Your Film

Go ahead and make the film, I'll certainly be interested in it as I don't believe I've seen that kind of thing in a brickfilm before.

If people start a flame war because of it then it's down to their immaturity, honestly people should just take the film for what it is and criticize the actual film aspects of it unless there are some beliefs presented int he story that don't tie in with the film's 'brickfilmer-made' plot.

I'm an atheist and I've enjoyed quite a few Bible-related brickfilms here, I remember there was one just last Christmas that had really nice cinematography. Wish I could remember the name of it though...
